...back from the Paint Shop...!!

Flashy Red...!!

Here's a shot of Chuck Miller working on a few last�minute details to prepare for the '57 for the trailer...

Here's the '57 loaded up on the trailer....the shoreline beige color across the tailfins and trunk looks really nice in contrast to the�flashy reddish orange body color...

�Note: The inner fender behind the front wheel has been painted body color....�

This shot shows the workhorse Grand Cherokee with '57 still on the trailer, safely back in Virginia...

Here you can see the front grill, bumper, headlights, hood rockets all�need to be installed.

Here you can see the reddish-orange paint scheme continues under the�hood. �The frame remains an original black color. Repop hood hinges, latch catch�and springs. �

Here's the myriad of small parts that have been painted body color, �awaiting installation on the car.....

Repop front grill bar emblem. �The grill bar holds the front parking lights.

Here's the�rechomed original five piece front bumper with new repop rubber bullets. �I need to replace a couple of the bumper brackets. �You can also see the ever important and always present '57 Passenger Car Assembly Manual. Chevy needed a manual and so will you! �I�also use the ClassicChevy Int'l How To Restore a '57 Chevy book and the�'57 Chevy Shop Manual.

Confession time: �This is my favorite part of the restoration. �Everything has been cleaned and repainted, all you have to do is follow the�manual...!! �It sure beats sanding, blasting, and buffing...

�

The work progresses....here you can see the hood rockets, Chevy script, grill, grill bar, and hood bars have been installed. �Under the hood, I�have also installed the wiring harness for the grill bar parking lights but I still need to�pick up�some clips to fasten the horn wires. �Speaking of horns, I also need a couple of OEM horns....hmmm, Spring Carlisle will be here before we know it.....
