You've
stumbled upon my gaming zone page. Here you will be able to get to
several gaming sites I like to visit, but first, I want to take a
moment about to talk about the greatest game ever released by any game
company.
Burn Out, Championship Drag Racing, PCE
Mech Warrior II
I LOVE THIS GAME!!!! Inspired by the movie Robot Jox, this
is truly an incredible game.I've played the Wolf clan all the
way to the end and about halfway through the Falcon clan. I uninstalled the
game to make room other stuff, but I still think it's the most awesome game ever
made, with Full Throttle a close second. But enough about that...
Any card players out there??
I love to play hearts. Of all the high speed CD ROM games on the market, the
hearts game that came with WIN 95 is the one I play the most. I finally
got tired of beating up the computer and found a great place to play on-line
for free. Here is where you can get
started in your card playing adventures. Hearts is not the only game they
have, there is also spaids, bridge and pinoccle games going on.
Go yourself and check it out. One more note: Netscape is
required to play any of the card games there.
How About Some Classics??
Remember the old classics, the
original video games like Donkey Kong, Robotron, 1942 and Galaga?? I found
a combination of sites that you can download data from to have these
games on your PC.
Step one is to go to the
MAME download site.
This is the operating system all these games run under, or at least an emulator
of the operating system. It's a ZIP file that I unzipped to a directory I called MAME.
Step two involves getting the ROM's, or games files. There are two
places to go for theses.
Daves Arcade Classics
and Lord 13's
MAME Page. For some of the games listed, like Donkey Kong, there is also
a seperate sound file to download. Once downloaded, I create seperate directories
inside the MAME directory titled what the game is. Then, to play the game,
my command line is c:\mame\mame.exe galaga for the game Galaga. These games
run great in DOS and will work just fine in windows thru a DOS shell. If
you have any questions or need help setting these up, fell free to e-mail
me at the bottom of this page
Wanna download some cool stuff??
Check out theZD Net
software library for a HUGE selection of downloadable demos. One of they're
current features, Homeworld by Sierra, is the next evolution of real-time strategy gaming, delivering a fresh experience in a totally 3D universe. Homeworld gives players a new level of freedom to create new styles of gameplay while simultaneously delivering cinematic quality graphics, stunning special effects, brilliantly rendered ships and an innovative interface. They also have a top ten kids games area of
downloadable shareware games.
Still Want More??
Check out
Computer Gaming World's site. They have a great archive of downloadable
demos also. One of they're current features is Star Wars Pod Racer. It's a racing sim that flies!! It's kind of hard ot control, but once you get the hang of it, hold on and enjoy the ride.
