NOTE TO SELF!!!!

Keep everything organized. Its very important. You need to label stuff and put it in baggies.
Also keep it together, like in a box. So you have all the parts.

Step 4:  Remove the 6 large case bolts. The small case bolts. And The oil pump, I used 2 screw drivers just don't mess up the case.
Make sure you get all the bolts.
Then lay the case on the #3 & #4 cylinder side, and tap the large bolt studs with a  hammer, make sure you hold the upper part of the case up so the other part falls off.
Make sure get the lifters in the correct spot.

Step 5:
Pull the crank assembly, and other parts out.
Make sure to ay the crank down on the correct side. and mark it, and the rod #'s.
Also check for wear and assess what new parts you need. I needed new gears and a cam.
The distributor drive gear has to come out, there are 2 washers that go with it.
Bag them up.

]
Next inspect case for wear, mine didn't have hardly any wear, so it didn't need bored out, if yours is bad, bore it out.
Now the fun Part.
CLEAN THE CASE THROUGH, AND THROUGH!!!!!!!
I used Paint thinner, and a tooth brush, maybe gasoline but paint thinner doesn't stink as bad, and it works better. Its only $2 a gallon any ways.

Get the old paper and grease off, that way the new seals can do there job well.

remove the Key, the oil slinger and the 1st washer.
Then remove the rods making sure to mark/write down the numbers and directions of you moves.

Step 6 or 7??
Lay the parts back out, fully oiled. Be sure it is oiled or greased, or it will rust. Lay the parts back ot, and cover them up until you get the parts. Also, go over the case one more time, and get off any paper, or  grease clumps. Remove the crank gears.

Well, to make an update on my Engine stuff.  The bearings i got were stock, and well now that I got them, I realized The case has been bored out, past .50 over bore, and the crank was reground.  Well, the new bearings I thought were the right size...I got those yesterday.  They fit perfect around the crank shaft,...But rocked in the case. :( Well, not cool, I will check out the bore when steve comes over with his micrometer.  I disassembled my DP engine, It needed a rebuild, I need to get the gears off then it can back together... But until then......I'm waiting for my parts.

I got the gears off today with a 2 prong puller down at the shop in my town, the guy gave me the puller, and I did it right there in the garage. Then I put the crank in, new bearings all around, I closed the case, and tried to get the distributor drive shaft in line...no go, I chewed up some gears, then I took the case back apart(It only had 4 bolts holding it together, I thought this might happen, I was prepared...Well I took the cam out, and then lined up the timing shaft, and closed the case, but before we put the 1st case bolt on, I turned around and noticed....MY CAMSHAFT.....DUH!!!!!
So I took the case off again and then made sure the marks lined up, and walla!! I go her bolted and permatexed together. The new oil pump, in which I chipped while getting off with 2 screw drivers....Hey, I've gotten 2 others off with no prob. We'll, lets just The pump base was HUGE. Matt La Rou enterprises, also didn't send a few other parts...Ticks me off....(read in a sarcastic voice)"Oh No, This happens all the time".....NO IT DOESN'T......From matt yes...from others...not so often.
Well, that's about it for now. Still working on S.P. Bearings....

------Peace-----
