Ok, two months, ten days later - Here it is!

1962 Pontiac Catalina

The chassis is very clean. This shot
is before I changed the color to gold.
Here you can see the interior colors,
textures and BMF.
If you look under the dash, you'll see
the 8-track player and fader switch
I made from plastic sheet stock.
A little better view where you can also
see the ignition and trunk/door keys.
More interior detail shows here.
This shot is also before the color change.
The separate frame is pretty good.

The transmission crossmember was still
in place here.

I added brake lines and a fuel line.
Again, brake and fuel lines.
The engine before separating the trans.
Here's the finished body.
Under the hood you can see the brake
line detail, throttle linkage, heater core tubes,
and other details.
Another view.
Another interior shot.
Here's the chassis finished. Notice the
speedometer cable?
Valve stems in the wheels.

By the way, the rear wheels are resin copies
I made from the Dyno Don '62 Impala.

This is where the term "Wide Track"
came from.
This is a slightly different angle than above.
Even without an engine it still looks mean.
I like this view. It's all most people would
see if they raced against this car.
Mutt & Jeff are busy installing the warmed
over 389.
Transmission crossmember on the left.
You can see the ramps I built here.
And here. Notice Jeff's standing on a box.

He's not quite tall enough without it.

See the coffee cup, oil filter and muffler on
the table? I built the table and cup from
styrene tubing and sheet.
Jeff looks like he's got things under control.
The barrel is a resin cast I made from
one a list member sent me. The guys came
in that package too.
Helicopter shot.
Too much light.
Here too.
The trans is from the kit. It's hollowed
out in the front with the clutch fork and
input shaft visible.
I built the creeper from sheet plastic and
hand made the casters.

Measuring my personal creeper helped!

The swingset was built with styrene tubing
and angle iron.
I built the block & tackle by casting
small air cleaners in resin and gluing them
together.

The chains are old necklaces.

The tanks came from the '53 Ford pickup kit.
I built the cart and torch head, and the hoses
came from the local railroad hobby shop.
