My 1971 Camaro’s Partial-Resto.

Page 2

I started the project in my driveway at home because my family did not want to help me at first.

Then I was able to move into my grandfather’s garage and he started to help me along with my father. We stripped the hood, front fenders, roof, trunk, and part of the quarter panels. I applied primer out of a spray can at first, before I realized how stupid that was. We had to find new doors from a junk yard and strip and prime them as well. The change over of the window hardware and lock systems was preformed mainly by my dad while I stripped and sanded the doors.

This picture has the new nose piece that I got from the same junk yard and the hood as they looked after we stripped and primed them.

Here is a look at the car from the front after we completed the first phase of reconstruction.

Here is a shot of the rear of the car. You can see one of the new doors on sawhorses next to the car.
