Welcome to my wonderful world of diecast cars! This is an introduction to my diecast site and a little info about my collecting background. I am in the process of creating this website, so if there are any problems, please e-mail me. Unfortunately, I don't have any spectacular pictures to show yet, but I hope to eventually have some pictures of some of the cars in my collection, when I can afford a decent camera. As of right now, the site is comprised mainly of diecast information lists, discussion of diecast cars and collecting, and links to other diecast sites. I still have a lot of updating to do to improve my website, but you still might find some pretty interesting things on here and there are also opportunities to do some trading. I currently have around 2800 cars in my collection- around 2000 or so loose and about 800 packaged (It's so hard
to keep up with my inventory!). I do now have some stats about my collection that could be interesting to other collectors. My collection includes about 20-30 different brands: My collection is made up of mainly all sorts of different types of cars. I basically try to collect every model of car that exists. I have been collecting all my life or at least since I was about 2-3 years old. I think my first cars were given to me in 1977, which would make this my 22nd year of collecting. It was a little too late for Hot Wheels Redlines, but I obtained a substantial amount of HW blackwalls and '70s and '80s superfast and regular wheels Matchbox. A few years later I got a few Kenner Fast 111's, Tomica Pocket Cars, and Majorettes, along with occasional Zee, Maisto, and Yat Ming. The collecting frenzy continued on from there! Until a few years ago, I didn't really know many other collectors and did not really know much about the collecting world. I just bought cars I found in stores that I liked and opened them up and stored them in those 48 car cases you can find at Toys 'R' Us or Target. Then, early in 1995, I found Dana Johnson's guide to Matchbox- 1948-1993 and started to learn more about what is out there and this increased my interest in collecting even more than what I already had. Then I found the rec.toys.cars newsgroup and started chatting with other collectors all over the US and from other countries around the world. I started meeting collectors in stores, went to toy shows, got involved with the Hotlanta Hot Wheels chapter, and found myself in a whole new level in this hobby! I spent a lot of money on the hobby and caused myself a bit of financial hardship, but I have been finding ways to work around that, and I have been having a lot of fun and have never been more enthusiastic about collecting diecast cars. I have slowed down a little over the past couple of years and have started selling off a lot of cars I don't want as much in order to make room for nicer cars. I also started making an enormous inventory of what I have. Anyway, sit back and enjoy my realm of information, sales, trades and links...
