The history of Malaguti starts in 1930 in a
small factory employing 15 people, where bicycles were made, by
applying ingenious patents, like the famous "pipes":
unwelded joints obtained by using extrusion processed pipes.
After the second war, a new figure appeared on the road: the
motorbike. At Malaguti, the "Mosquito" lightweight
frames were born, as well as the first production of chain drived
motorbikes, fitting a german engine.
The 1960 marks the beginning of its recent history. The
first company decides to concentrate on the production of 50cc
motorbikes that become in a short time an indispensable means of
transport, because of their being economical and practical in the
city traffic jams.
The model "Fifty" born in 1975 and called "the
tubone" because the big tube of its frame was used as petrol
tank, had the merit of carring on the Malaguti from the 70's to
the 90's as a leader manufacturer on the domestic market and
opening frontiers to exports.
