PORSCHE, there is NO substitute....

Here the PO started the stripping and I'm picking-up where he left off.

A shot of the quater once I got all the paint off...

No rust but I found a couple of little dings, this will require a little work with my hammers and dollies.

Here you can see some dings, I'll be getting this much closer to the proper shape with hammers and dollies. The dings aren't bad enough to scrap the whole quarter, but will require a little shaping.

The quarter prepped and primed, this will hold off most of the flash rust while I strip the rest of the car.

I got these seats from a friend at work who just finished restoring a 1967 911, that had these 1970 911 seats. They have the correct headrests and are in pretty good shape.

Here's a shot of the rear about half way stripped. (This is very tedious, but I'm not warping any panels and I'm learning alot every day)

Here's three pictures of the lock post going through the stripping process.

Here's three pictures of the other lock post going through the stripping process.

During this time, I cleaned the tranny and got 28 years of dirt removed.

I think the tranny looks good, I drained it & filled it with brand new synthetic.

Right rear quarter stripped, prepped and ready for a shot of primer...

...and finally shot with primer. The rocker panel on this side of the car is dented in and will need to be replaced. This step is covered in Phase 9

Here's the new dash, the only problem is that it is one of those elusive 1968 dashes with three vent slots! DOHH!!
