Here it is, my "LASER
Restoration Page"
I'm sure most of you haven't
seen the inside of your boats, at least I hope you'll never need to go
this far. My boat #51622 was built in July 1977, by Performance
Sailcraft in Quebec, Canada. I purchased it in October '96 from a
local yacht club that was selling off the 5 well used Lasers from their
sailing school. All were in various states of disrepair. Of
the 4 boats I bought, 2 were sailing last year and mine will be finished
this summer (I hope !!!!!).

The entire hull-deck joint
had separated, letting quite a lot of water in over the years. All
of the wooden backing plates and supports were rotten. I saved the
old ones for templates and all of the new ones will be sealed with "West
System" epoxy. As you can just see there are no wooden backing plates for
cam cleats at the front of the cockpit, those must have been added in later
years.
