These are some tools that you may need to work on your VW, Some
of these you can make your self others you will need to buy. Some
you can pick up at parts places like Lordco but all are available
from Snap-on, Mac, ext.
If there are any tools That I have missed or any uses for the
following tools that I do not have up please inform me.
- 17mm allen, I made one of these by using an old wheel bolt,
Just find two nuts that will thread on and then use one nut as a
lock nut by doing it this way you could use a wheel bolt from
you own car, or you could weld them onto an old wheel bolt like
I did. You can pick a wheel bolt up at a scrap yard for cheep
(free). This is used for the transmission drain and fill plugs.
- 8mm 12 point socket, This is used for removing the CV joint
bolts. Boy I wish that I knew about this tool before I took mine
of with a torx bit.
- 12mm 12 point socket, This is used for removing the cylinder
head bolts.
- Fuel injector puller, This tool works very well for removing
the injectors, No more channel locking pliers. I bought this
tool for cheep but will post directions on how to make one
someday. Click here
for a picture.
- Clutch alignment tool, This tool aligns the clutch properly, I
bought it for a couple of bucks but may post directions on
how to make one someday.
