ED BRUNNHOELZL

"STEADY EDDIE"

He was there at the very start. In 1949 Ed and his brother Fred descended on the tracks of Freeport and Dexter Park with a '39 Ford coupe complete with a trailer! (Probably one of the very first) He is still there in the pits of Riverhead helping his son Eddie with his modified. In between he WON A TON of races.with great modesty, finesse, and spectacular driving.

Ma Brunnhoelzl had six boys and all were involved with auto racing to some degree. Needless to say the family is still involved. The jack that lifts Winston and Busch cars in one stroke carries the Brunnhoelzl name (George Jr.) Nephew Charlie B builds bodies for Winston cup in Carolina. Grandsons race go karts.....The Brunnhoelzl name is secure in racing circles for generations to come.
