Who are Select Auto Imports? Well for a start, the proprietors are Brian and Annette Barbour, who have a partner living in America by the name of Damian Lynch. The Barbour family have been into rodding some 26 or so years now. Many of those early years they were members of the Sultans Hot Rod Club, and then quite a few more years were spent with Earlies Ltd. But the last few years have seen such an increase in the workload from their importing early model vehicles business that there hasn't been enough hours in the day to do the "club-stuff". Still they make a point of trying to spend a weekend here and there at rod runs and cruise nights to unwind from the working weeks.
You may think that spending your working day surrounded by early model car bodies, motors, gear boxes and all the bolt on stuff you can think of would be great fun, well, you're right! And, after selling more than 400 early steel bodies and heaps of engines and gear boxes, Brian feels that with the great life that he and Annette are enjoying by working with all things automotive, that he owes "something" to the rodding community for all the support he has received over the years (as if the great prices and excellent service weren't enough). During the excitement of the 13th Nationals at Hawkesbury, Brian found that "something" that he felt would finally allow him to feel he has given back to the sport.
Therefore, it is with great delight that we inform all those that will be attending the 14th Street Rod Nationals, Geelong, that Select Auto Imports have donated one of the best '29 'A' Model Ford Tudor bodies (plus chassis and rear end) that they have ever brought into the country, which will be the major pre-entry give-away prize.
To be in the draw for this superb prize, you need only to have your 14th Nationals entry form in to the Nationals Committee, before the 31st of January 1999.
So, who are Select Auto Imports? Well, they are one of the 14th Street Rod National's first sponsors, and we are very pleased that they love this sport of ours so much. And, we think that they are bloody great!!!!
