This year saw many changes to the Show, with the biggest change being the move to the Jubilee Pavillion. This was done out of necessity as the larger Motor Pavillion was unavailable due to the moving of the dates for the Rod Show from May back to the traditional Queen's Birthday weekend in June. Although the Jubilee is 15% smaller in area, there was no decrease in vehicle numbers, and it was more user friendly.
The June weekend also brought back our interstate supporters, to add some colour, not only to the Show, but to the weekend too! Rod Hadfield's twin blown 'T' coupe was a hit with the fans, and the judges, with the 'T' scooping 6 of the major awards. The stretched, blown and tubbed pro-street registered Camaro of Dawayne and Sue Baugus was another eye ball blaster, (it went on to take out several awards including "Top Street Machine" ). Dawayne & Sue hail from the USA and are touring the Camaro around the country. Dawayne is a real character, and he made many friends during their stay in SA with the "never ending story".
Jaws dropped over Travis Brumby's 'Wild Bunch' Lambourgini Countach. Victor Bray will drive this awesome little car later this year. Club stands and displays were excellent, with Adelaide Hot Rodders coming out on top with a 'Hot Rods to Hell' theme, complete with ghouls and much humour.
Some of this year's street rod "top of class" winners were:

Richard Dixon's gorgeous traditional '33 Ford coupe. Black paint, red trim and lotsa louvres.

Tony Cassar drove his Buick Nailhead powered '32 Ford coupe across from Port Fairy, Vic.

Denis Oates' tough Hemi powered '33 Ford coupe.
