PLASTIC RODDER

Revell '32 Ford 3 Window Coupe 1/25th (Kit No. 85-7605)

This is a brand new 3 Window kit which shares none of the parts from the 3 Window by Monogram from a few years back (Monogram are now combined with Revell).

The Body copies the real thing very well. It features a bonnet with stock louvres. The grille shell and cowl have the raised section, and the edges meet the bonnet. It is only a small thing, but it's details like this that abound in this kit. This kit contains fenders so it can be built full fendered or as a hi-boy. It also has a dropped headlight bar and has big and little headlights.

The Chassis is exactly the same as that found under the '32 roadster recently reviewed.

The Motor and Trans are also the same as those found in the roadster kit, and with minimal detail builds into a stunning power plant.

The Interior features door trims with a stock upholstery pattern, with the bench seat featuring a wide pleated design. The dash has a stock gauge arrangement, but has round air vents at it's sides.

The Wheels & Tyres; The wheels are chromed D spoked 'Americans', that mount on big and little radials. However, the fronts are a bit big for my liking.

In Conclusion, like the roadster kit, this kit builds into a beautiful model, and is ideal for the construction of many '32 hot rod variations. Hey, use the guards off this kit on the roadster, for that full fendered roadster!

Modeling Tip

Detailing Tyres
A very simple thing that can be done to a kit's tyres is to sand the tread area to remove the shine for a more realistic, used appearance. It's a little thing, but it makes a noticeable difference, especially on a hi-boy that has so much of it's tread area exposed.

Alan Barton of Perth built this copy of Tony Nancy's roadster. It is based on A.M.T.'s '29 roadster, with many modifications.

Alan also built this model of Tony Nancy's Buick powered dragster from the Revell kit.
