The latest�
Since the last update the Nats Committee have been busy making final arrangements, and securing sponsorships. Now that the main structure of the Nationals has been worked out, we are compiling a list of jobs which we will need help with, and we will be calling on those clubs who have already offered their help to work out the details. We are pleased to advise that Eastern Valley Street Rodders (Vic) have offered to look after registrations, and Marsh Rodders (Vic) have taken on the job of running the Go Whoa. These are two of the most important jobs at any Nationals�Thanks to both clubs!
Events�
The Nationals Committee is keen to hear from any other clubs interested in running some of the traditional car games planned for the Nationals. If your club, or a member of your club, is interested in becoming an official sponsor of one of the car games, or any other event or awards, please contact Terry Crosbie on (03) 9782 1173 after hours, or (03) 9580 5188 business hours.
Early entrants give aways�
At the time of writing this update we had received over 750 entries. All entries received before September 1st went into the draw for the 'lilow' front end donated by 'Ididit' (valued at approx. $3600). The front end features the very popular 2 inch dropped spindles kindly donated by the Castlemaine Rod Shop. And, for our other early entrant's draw (for entries received before 31st January, 1999), there's a prize of an '29 'A Tudor body (plus chassis & rear end) donated by Select Autos. The lucky winners of both early entrant prize draws will be announced at the Nationals!!!

We are very proud to announce that the ASRF has rekindled our relationship with ICI Auto Color (Dulux). After quite a few years absence from our sponsor boards, ICI Auto Color (Dulux) have generously agreed to take on the mantle of "PRINCIPLE MAJOR SPONSOR" of the 14th ASRF Street Rod Nationals. VIGIL Insurance Brokers have also come on board as a Major Sponsor, and they have complemented their investment by securing the rights to being the "Official Sponsor" of the awards for the "Top 10 cars of the Nationals".
It is only with the commitment of companies such as ICI Auto Color (Dulux) and VIGIL Insurance Brokers, that we are able to hold such events as our Nationals, and we gratefully thank them for their support.
We would also like to take this opportunity to acknowledge some of the other sponsors who have also thrown their support behind the 14th ASRF Street Rod Nationals-Geelong, 1999. They are the V.H.R.A., Select Auto Imports, IDIDIT front ends, Select Automatics, Deuce Customs, Aussie Desert Cooler, Castlemaine Rod Shop, Howard Instruments. Over the coming months there are many other companies coming on board to support your Nationals, and we trust that the Rodding community will support those businesses with their business.
Traders�
Due to several older buildings being removed from the Nationals venue, our trade site co-ordinator, Peter Raines, is able to accommodate more outside trade sites with the extra space now available. To take advantage of what will be the biggest Rodding event to hit the Southern States for many years, please call Peter on (03) 5253 2660 to book your site (over 80 traders have booked so far�)
Accommodation & Camping�
If you or your club still haven't organised your lodgings, we again strongly recommend that you ring this toll free number 1800 620 888 to have the information on local accommodation in the Geelong area sent to you. And, if you intend to camp at the Nationals venue, please remember that camping is only available to those who have officially entered. There are still powered sites available, and there are plenty of unpowered sites available also. So, to avoid missing out, get your entries in early please, and we will send you a camping form with more details (over 180 official campers so far�)
