Aussie Desert Cooler designs and builds high performance radiators for all car and motor combinations. The new core designs available mean that you can cool your hot engine with minimum space requirements. Each Hot Rod radiator is made to the customer's individual requirements. There is no longer any need to butcher your car to make a Commodore radiator fit.
Street Rods are well known for over-heating, with their small engine bays, and big horsepower engines. There is nothing worse than watching your temperature gauge when all you want to do is cruise! Aussie Desert Cooler's favourite Street Rod design is a four row, close mesh, brass and copper core, capable of cooling a big block in most cases. When asked about aluminium radiators, Norm agrees that weight saving aluminium is the best thing for the race track. However, he is quick to point out that for day to day rodding, aluminium is vulnerable to chemical corrosion, and stray current corrosion. Brass and copper cores not only last longer, but are more affordable.
Norm and Vicki head up the team at Aussie Desert Cooler. Norm has 26 years experience with automotive cooling systems. Aussie Desert Cooler employs fourteen people, and handles between 50 and 70 radiators a day. They are now the largest producers of performance radiators in Australia, with radiators freighted Australia wide, and exports to New Zealand, the U.K. and America. They are located at 107 Peel Street, North Melbourne, only metres away from the "Victoria Markets" complex.
Norm's first car was a "Tank" Fairlane. Most rodders will know his FJ ute from swap meets and trade shows. When he's not building Hot Rod and Vintage radiators, Norm and Vicki are building their '40 Ford Pick-up. Aussie Desert Cooler supports street rodding, and are proud sponsors of the Geelong Nationals, John's R & C Picnic, Bedigo National Swap Meet, Bright Rod Run, Ballarat Rod Run among others.
You can ring Norm any time on (03) 9328 4321 for help, or friendly advice, for any of your cooling system problems.
