Issue No. 12 January 1998
It's hard to believe it's been 3 months since I last sat down to write a report for the newsletter, the rodding scene has been so busy, the time just seems to get away, like a blown 454 in a bucket!
The biggest news this month was the election of a new State Director for NSW. Bob Heggie has taken on the position for the coming 2 years, and we all wish Bob the best of luck in the demanding role of a State Director in the 90's. A brief profile of Bob's involvement in rodding is included in this issue. Adrian Buckley has retired after 3 years in the position, and has gained much respect from rodders for the hard work and long hours he put in as NSW State Director. On behalf of the members, many thanks to Adrian for his dedication to the ASRF and hot rodding in NSW over the past few years.
The National Secretary's Office is currently busy upgrading the computer system, and transferring members data to the new system. The upgrade was planned in the 1996 budget, and now is underway, and should be completed by the time you receive your newsletter.
It's pretty obvious when compiling the national calendar of events that the activity in all states is increasing from year to year, with more sanctioned regular cruise nights, and some newer clubs adding their annual events to the calendar, giving rodders more choice of events to attend than ever before. This is a pleasing aspect of the current rodding scene. Don't forget, if your club has a run planned, let us know, and we can add it to the calendar.
