Junior Rodder
By Geoff G. Rea
Well since the last issue of Junior Rodder I now have a computer to add to the other tools and machines I have in my garage. What has that got to do with building models I hear you say? Well, if you have some sort of graphic package, and a scanner, then you can chop and change pictures of the type of cars you may be building as models. This way you can see what your ideas can look like before you start building that model.
If you are fortunate enough to be on the 'net, then you can look at, and search for, model sites to see what other modelers around the world are doing and building. Or, just go and check out the 'Scale Enthusiast' magazine site.
So, to all you people who take these computer things for granted (not like us oldies) this could open a whole new world to your modeling. Also, you may be able to adapt the model / comp thing into a school project!
A word about the 14th Nationals..... As the organizer of the National's model display, I would like to thank any of you Junior Rodders who may have bought models along for display. I was very pleased with the response from entrants, and can tell you all, there was a constant stream of people passing through the 'Revell-Monogram Model Hall' to see the huge display. To all of you, thanks again, and I encourage all of you to support other such displays by taking along your models to be seen by others!
Yours in Hot Rodding, Geoff G. Rea
