TLMetry 2.0 is here!

TLMetry 2.0 picks up where TLMetry left off and carries it another 50 laps. Some of the best features are in the screenshot above: maps, lap comparisons, and picture-in-picture. The basic goal of TLMetry, explained in the About TLMetry section below, is expanded in TLMetry 2.0 in several ways. Some of the new features are:

  • Plots now include G-forces and slip angle
  • Integrated support for RPZip archives
  • Support for the GN track pack as well as converted ICR2 tracks
  • Maps for the native NASCAR2 and GN tracks
  • "Picture-in-picture" to view both maps and graphs
  • A second y-axis to show more data on one graph
  • Proper handling of "warpy" replays from online racing
About TLMetry

When NASCAR was the foremost racing simulator on the market, software was written which could extract car position and speed data from a replay file and save it in text form. This data could then be graphed in a spreadsheet (such as Excel). With this, information about why one lap is better or worse than another could be discovered.

TLMetry by SealSoft Works was written for Windows 95 and Win32 to combine these extraction and plotting steps into a single, painless process. This is only the beginning of what TLMetry can do do. In addition to finding the position and speed of the car, the acceleration and racing line can be found. Besides these calculations, TLMetry can:

  • Graph any of the calculations vs. time or track position with Zoom for all graphs
  • Import and average several laps to form a "typical" lap
  • Export lap data taken from different replays to a single replay file, including averaged laps
  • Export lap data for any or all calculations to a text file to arbitrary resolution
Download for TLMetry 2.01 Windows 95. Unzip the file to a directory and run SETUP.EXE. Follow the onscreen instructions. If you have trouble getting this copy, The Pits has a copy you can download.

TLMetry 2.0 has a bug in which replays are exported incorrectly. Click here to patch TLMetry 2.0 to 2.01.

Send us e-mail telling what you think of the TLMetry. We are specifically interested in hearing if there is specific interest in continued support for Windows 3.x.

Return to SealSoft Works home page, having been person number to show interest in TLMetry 2.0.

SealSoft Works would like to thank The Pits for their gracious help in hosting our software.
