He Won the Million!

Jeff Gordon has done what once seemed impossible. He has won three out of four "Crown Jewel" events in Winston Cup and has won the Winston Million. With victories at Daytona, Charlotte and now Darlington. He has done what a few have had the opportunity to do but only one had before. Bill Elliot did it in 1985, and he had to earn it the hard way, coming from two laps down and a busted transmission to win the million. Jeff Gordon also had to earn this the hard way. The car had to be worked on all day long and he had very hard challenges from Dale Jarrett and Jeff Burton all day. Some people who don't like Gordon, say that he hasn't had to earn anything, he was given the best of everything. Although Rick Hendrick put together an awesome team for him and the right equipment, if Jeff was not talented, he would not have won the Points Championship in 1995, become 6th on the all time money list, become the 2nd driver in history to win the Winston Million, Rookie of the Year, or anything else. This was all done by a team, a team known as The Rainbow Warriors. No one person on that team could do it by themselves, and none of them could do it without each other. Jeff Gordon is a very talented race car driver. Like him or not, you have to respect him. He started racing when he was just out of diapers and 20 years later look at what he has accomplished. We should all tip our hats to Jeff and the Warriors. Congratulations to you all on the Winston Million!
