The Ford vs. Chevy Battle is more heated than ever this season. Proof of that is the coverage after "The Winston," where ESPN went around, right after the race,
asking everybody what they thought. Mark Martin, of all people, a Ford driver, was complaining about spoiler. They interviewed Dale Earnhardt, a Chevy driver, and he accused Martin of whining and asked someone to
get him a towel. Shortly after the Monte Carlo was reintroduced in NASCAR, there was a bet offered by Jack Roush (owner of Martin's car) with Richard Childress (Earnhardt's owner) saying the driver's should switch cars and run against each other to see just who had the better car.
Childress did not want to make the bet. I think all this Ford vs Chevy stuff is rediculous. I believe that it is the driver not the car. Ford and Chevy just make the sheet metal. It is frankly stupid to think that just because
most of the drivers in Winston Cup drive Ford's that it is any advantage to Ford. Chevy has won the Manufacturer's Cup more times even with less driver's driving Chevy's. If you really want to put all the driver's on "equal" ground, they should put them all in the same cars, like the IROC series, and run them, let's see who is the best.
One last comment I want everyone that has read this editorial to realize. Rusty's Midnight was a Pontiac!!(just something for you Rusty/Ford fans to think about)
