If the driver isn't winning, get rid of him. Let's find a road racing specialist to run this one instead. That's ok David, just sit and let your arm heal. Haven't you heard these all year long? It started with David Greene and Hut Stricklin.
Hut was released from the Stavola Brothers race team because he wasn't performing. Let's look over the fact that they just switched from Ford to Chevy, using a different type of engine and maybe the crew just sucked, it's the driver's fault, ditch him. David Greene wasn't performing either. They let him sit out and nurse his injuries for a race that he practiced and qualified for. The next thing you heard was he was released. Low and behold Hut has the Catapillar chevy and David Greene is back in Busch. That's just the beginning folks. Then the one that really got me, Todd Bodine and Jerry Nadeau. What did they do wrong? Nothing at all, they did the best they could with what they had to work with. Todd Bodine didn't turn many heads with wins and poles, neither did Nadeau. Once again, lets look over the important things like chemistry, good equipment, and a good crew. It's all the driver. Nadeau inherited Lake Speed's car when he retired and Todd is back in Busch. There has been so many driver switches and changes around all year, it is just stupid. There are two things that build good race teams. Time and patience. How is a team supposed to work as a unit when people are changing like that? They simply can't. Seems to me that all the other owners are looking for the next Jeff Gordon. They just expect to change drivers and boom..championship. I think not. Look at Gordon. He has been associated with Ray Evernham since the Busch Series. They, over the years, have made themselves great. They didn't change around faces all that much and have functioned as a unit. If more teams did that, maybe they could catch the 24. I'm not saying that it couldn't happen because anything is possible, but when it comes to winning a championship, a good overall unit is essential. The hired gun BS needs to stop. Owners find who you want, pay them, keep them happy, and you will find results. Greatness takes time, and you aren't going to acheive it in one race with your hired gun. Thank you for listening....
