Hey Dale, Are Ya Bitter??

Hi folks, I'm sorry it's been so long, I realize that we are almost half way through with the racing season and I haven't written anything since before Daytona! Well, fact is, I'm sitting back, just waiting for something to piss me off. So far, it has been a very interesting season, with the exception of Daytona. Didn't that suck?? anyway, now I was watching the Richmond race and I just had to get out here and tell ya what I thought of it. Mr. Dale Jarrett, defending Winston Cup Champion (aren't you sick of hearing that from Ned?) is not having the stellar season he had last year. It is a relief to me, as well as, the millions of people who just don't like him as a driver. He went through his ups and downs in his career so far. He was with the Wood Brothers, and aren't you just tired of watching him beat Davey Allison?? That's the only good thing he did with the Wood Brothers, so they must run the film to make you sick of it. He went to Joe Gibbs, a man who everything he touches turns to gold, and won another race, the Daytona 500. Even though Gibbs hasn't won the Daytona 500 since, I think Joe is better off now Jarrett is gone, don't you? Then he went to fill in for Ernie Irvan. Whether you fans want to admit it or not, NOBODY wanted Jarrett in the #28. Side Story: I went to my favorite collectibles shop and was talking about that very subject when Jarrett first got the ride. He told me that nobody wanted Dale Jarrett clothes, jackets, cars, or anything else to remind them that he was in the #28 Havoline car.End of Side Story Robert Yates, you know my opinion on somethings that he's done before, must have liked him, because when Ernie came back, Dale had a brand new ride making the #28 have a teammate and the #88 Ford Quality Care team was born. Dale went out and won the Daytona 500 again, all of a sudden making him a household name. Everyone forgot about the times when they didn't want his clothes and cars and crashed the stores looking for Jarrett merchandise. Quite a change from just a season ago if you ask me. Robert Yates then put the #28, the car that made him famous, on the back burner to push Dale Jarrett full force. Kenny Irwin might not be the best driver, BY ANY MEANS, but in that #28 car, even I could win races if I had my owner's support. Low and behold, last year it happened, Dale Jarrett won the points Championship. He couldn't be stopped, 1999 was just a fantastic year for Dale Jarrett, Buddy Parrott and Robert Yates. Now, lets go to the present, I know you Jarrett fans would rather not, but I have a question. Where did he go??? Is he in the top ten week in and week out??? Has he won more than one race??? The answer is NO. He has pulled Terry Labonte's trick. After 1996, where did Terry go?? It's the same place Jarrett is headed, down hill. You could tell in Richmond that it was frustrating him. A good ways into the race, Jeff Gordon was trying to pass him. Dale bought away Gordon's pit crew at the end of the season and I guess he didn't realize that Gordon can STILL race just as good. Dale tried to keep Gordon back and deliberately tried to wreck him before Jeff could pass him. This indirectly caused Bobby Labonte, the 2000 points leader right now, to literally jump over Jeff Gordon's front end and blow any chance of Bobby winning the race. For a short time, until Mark Martin bit the dust, cost Bobby the points lead. So I ask, Dale, are ya bitter??? Doesn't it just make you mad that you're old car is leading the points while you're struggling to finish races? You tried to take out your rival, Gordon, and try to screw the points leader at the same time. For what? Do you think you'll repeat as champion? DON'T MAKE ME LAUGH!!! It takes a true driver to win back to back, look at Dale Earnhardt, Richard Petty, Jeff Gordon, and all the rest that have repeat as champions. Just because you bought Gordon's Pit Crew away doesn't make you anything special. Cherish you're 1999 championship, play back the tape of every race, watch your tape of the Award's Banquet, enjoy it, because Mr. Jarrett, that's the ONLY one you'll get! Thanks for listening.
