Best Team in 1999: Joe Gibbs Racing....like there was a question of this one.. Biggest Breakup of the Year:Ray Evernham leaving Hendricks Motorsports, which leads me to my next award... Best News of 1999:Ray Evernham leads the return of The Chrysler in NASCAR, its about time they came back! Best Comeback Story of 1999: Jeff Gordon winning back to back races after losing Ray Evernham Rookie Of The Year: Tony Stewart... I disagreed with NASCAR last year, but even I can't deny the Home Depot Pontiac Best Race of The Year:Martinsville, when John Andretti came from two laps down and won the frickin thing! Worst Wreck of 1999:Ernie Irvan in Michigan...once again Ernie wins this award...this one cost him his career.. Worst Race of The Season:Homestead...it's was more the coverage than the race, but wasn't it just BORING!!! Best Speech at the Award Banquet:Waaard Burton, no, this is not a typo, I just spell it the way I hear him say it! He gave a great speech though! Best Driver of the Year:Dale Jarrett.. y'all know it kills me to say anyone else but Gordon.. Return to the Soapbox
