With no cautions, this was the fastest ran Winston 500 in history. It beat the old record set by Bill Elliott in 1986 by 50 seconds.
Although it was two weeks late getting started due to the weather.

Here they go.
After a two week delay
they are finally off and running!

Three and four wide at 190+ m.p.h. is common at Talladega.
