Jimi Hendrix One of the great muscians of the century. Although he was really in the public's eye for only 4 years, he had permanently changed the sound of the guitar. He was the master at manipulating all manners of unforeseen walls of sounds from his axe, with innovative amplification, distortion with experimentation. His psychedelic feedback and blasts of energy of sound made him unique to say the least. His stage presence along with his playing influenced countless guitarists. Even today there are numerous albums and CDs that are being released. It's been 30 yrs. since his passing, and many wonder of what could have been. Damn, that's a shame. |

This site contains several of the posthumous releases of Jimi that are imports, bootlegs or simply out-of-print. I even have some albums worth mentioning. What is definitely worth mentioning is that all fans should own the only three albums made during his lifetime.....period. They are similar yet very different, but you already knew that. A must-have. |

Band of Gypsys: One of my favorites and largely underrated. This group featured Billy Cox and Buddy Miles. Jimi does his walls of sound with "Machine Gun" and plays some groovin' licks/riffs in "Who Knows." The best track for me is "Changes." It's too bad this is really the only gig they did together....one of Jmi's better CDs in his so called "transitional period." |

Live at the Fillmore East: The Full Monty of the Band of Gypsys...see above. I believe it's his best album. On the "musicfiles" section, all four shows are present w/ the rehersals. Essential. |

First Rays of the Rising Sun: The best final album of Jimi. Really, this is probabaly as good as it will ever get in creating what Jimi's final album had he finished it. This album takes it's tracks from the Cry of Love, Crash Landing, War Heroes and Rainbow Bridge. Haven't heard it in a while, but a worthwhile buy. |

Radio One: This one is getting hard to find, at least on vinyl which is clear with a shade of aqua green. His cool stuff at the BBC which showcases his fun for these gigs during the early period of his stardom. Neato track include Hoochie Koochie Man, Day Tripper and a different version of Purple Haze. A must for collectors. It's nice to hear him play those early songs (especially the Radio One theme) with much enthusiasum; something that left after the Winterland gig. The complete BBC has been released since. |

South Saturn Delta: Another release of some outtakes and somewhat rare performances. Nota bad disc. It's kinda like an alternative version of First Rays. Not essential, but completists might wanna pick it up. I personally dug the other version of Little Wing. |
