�����The APPDO has conducted a survey with Dpt. against Organized Crime of General Police, in October 1999.
�����In the sociology survey have attended 992 children, the result of which was: 45 children use drug or opium: 4 of them use often, 13 of them use sometimes, 28 of them have used once.

�����Our collegue is implementing successfully National Programme against Drug Use adupted by Mongolian Government on March 2000 and "Grass Root" Programme of Government of Japan.

�����Mrs. Ts. Munkh-tsetseg, Chief of the Branch in Ulaanbaatar and Mr. S. Khishig-demberel, Chief of the Branch in Orkhon aimag, Mr. Enkhbayar, Chief of Branch in Dornogobi aimag Zamun-Uud of the "Association to protect population from drug and opium" are leading other branches of the APPDO with their activities.

�����In the collaboration with Boundary Customs, Gereal Police, Health and other NGOs, the Association will prevent people using drug and opium and, even if they addicted already will take various measures to let them escape from the harmful habit and behavor, organise training and seminars, propogand and negotiate with foreign agency in protection and prevention.
�����In the sociology survey of June this year involved 3000 people and survey result was so: 43 children use drug and opium any way, 6 out whom use often 13 sometimes, 34 have tried once, 137 people said that their friends and familiar people use such narcotics.

�����Lecture for officials of Customs was held. The "Association to protect population from drug and opium" together with General Customs Department and State Controlling Committee on Drug and Bio Medicine makes seasonal control over importing drug and opium.

�����"Association to protect population from drug and opium" organised training activity in collaboration with Narcology Centre, State Centre of Drug and Medicine, "Don't destroy your life, which can happen once" on 26th of June 2000 at Freedom Square.
�����The goal of this measurement was dedicated to International day to fight against usage and illegal sale of drug and opiums and to advertise to and prevent from damages and harmness to human body, nature and to social community among students, youth and general public.
�����The APPDO fulfils its activities with support of Customs General board, General Police, Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, Center for Narcology and Psycho-defect Research and other NGOs, Youth Federation, UNDP, National Security Defence Board, Japan Embassy and Mongolian Foundation for Open Society /Soros Fund/ and has partnership relation with USA, Japan.

�����The "Association to protect population from drug and opium" has signed on contract with Japan Embassy on 3rd of March 2000 on strengthening activities against drug and opium.
�����Japan Embassy has granted assitance of technical equipment, office supply, which worth 16739$ to the "Association to protect population from drug and opium". We are very glad for this favor. Currently the APPDO is implementing a program "Plant roots" on Japan Government.
�����We would like to express our great thanks to Marohito Hanada, Ambassador .... from Japan, who supports and consults on the activity of the association, and contributes to the education of youth and children, the future of the Mongolia.

�����Sociologist Ms. Ariunaa of the "Association to protect population from drug and opium" participated on International Forum of Asian Centre against Drug and opium in May 2000 and presented about the usage of drug and opium situation in Mongolia.

�����Erdenebayar, Director of Physico-disability and Narcology centre established a partnership contract on 4th of January 2000 with "Association to protect population from drug and opium". Doctor Munkhtuya, Doctor Baasansuren in Center of Narcology and Psycho-defect research attend very often in our activity and give their advices.

We wish to prevent population and focus especially on buyer and user let them escape from the harmful habit and stop the spread of users, and make extra statement on usage of drug in law. We wish to have some support and financing for implementing the whole objectives and we wish to search experiences abroad how to operate organizations, which have same purpose.

�����Looking through the activity of Narcology centre of Mr. Nazarbaev in Kirgisien, Central Asia people of the Association learn their experiences and try to implement its further action accordingly.

�����The association comprises of directing board, controlling board and executing service, it has 7 branch board in Selenge, Dornogovi, Erdenet, Railway station and conducting its activities with about 1500 members.
�����It involves doctors, medicine -methodist, lawyers and Physician of Medical science, Teacher and Professor Chultemsuren in Medical University and other specialized and experienced personnel on the direction.

�����Within the last one year the APPDO has conducted training for the chiefs of association boards, executing service and branch boards and gave interview on TV 8 times, in radio 10 times in order to make acquiented the association and its activities, showed cartoon "to be aware of and prevent from damage and harmness of narcotics and drug" twice. Made a working contract with a journalist of Yellow Newspaper and gave stories to the public, hold lecture 10 times, 6000 leaflets of 3 kind of Plakat "not to addict children to drug and narcotics". Established the first issue of newspaper "No, never" and are translating and using important materials from Germany and Japan.

�����We worked out a decleration to Committee of State Ikh Khural, Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, General Police Department, General Customs Department on "Controlling drugs which affect to psyche". We have organized a meeting and duscussion on "We must live in a drug-free world" together with Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, General Police Department, General Customs Department, Centre of Narcology and Psycho-defect research and started elaborating a National Program.

�����We have organized activities to avoid using drugs and propogansd about damage and harmness of them, especially focusing on people who addicted to drug already.

�����Narcologist of the "Association to protect population from drug and opium" Ts. Munkhtsetseg and Sociologist Ts. Munkhchimeg of the APPDO were visited to Narcology Centre of Ulan-Yde, Russian Federation in September, 2000.
�����These two Employees could study and learn, how the Narcology centre operates and how they prevent and treat people, if there are people addicted to Drug already.

�����Now the APPDO could begin some of the treatment operation, if the Association could be financially supported and it would be the prior objective.

�����It has seen from the experiences that usage of drugs and opiums had very harmful affect to population, its heritage, and health, caused to be involved in serious crimes and so on. We gave several lecture to pupils in Secondary school, Universities and General Customs Department on damage and harmness of drugs and narcotics, which dangerously affect to psyche.

|
�����We have found that there were a Factory named Zeergene, which produce somekind of drugs. After having known this, we gathered for urgent Conference in collaboration with Mongolian Liberal Trade Union to discuss dismissing the factory operation.
�����It was revealed with certain action and facts that illegeal and enormous production of Zeergene "Z and M" Co.Ltd. in Bayankhongor aimag's medical factory, which could badly affect human body and psyche. In the chinese invested factory citizen of China M. Badam and Tsai Jan Chuan produced 6.5t efedrin and alcoid base, which was enough to make 455million people to be affected.
�����That's why the National Federation of Mongolian Liberal Trade Union together with "Association to protect population from drug and opium" discussed to withdrawing the operation of the factory and, to nominate Counsil for National Security in Mongolia and nominate international experts, and hold a conference twice to request controlling from UN Drug and opium Committee.

�����Together with Mongolian Youth Federation organized a workshop on 25th of February 2000 involving representatives governmental and non governmental organization and many other mongolian organizations which operate for children and youth's well being on "How to fight against usage of drug and narcotic".
�����Representatives from 19 organizations in the workshop were agreed on the following two issues.
1. To check up any information related to drug and narcotics and make appropriate ones accessable to public
2. To involve specialized officials to discuss any related matters
�����Workshop on "What methodology should be used to make on drug and narcotic related research" on 16th of March 2000 and there participated sociaology teachers in Mongolian National University, "Association to protect population from drug and opium" State Center for permanent Health Information Uranchimeg, Tungalag, Psychian Munkhtsetseg in Centre for Narcology and Psycho-Defect research, Representative Dambiinyam in Department against Organized Crime in.
