Whispers
By
Melva
Forever the gentle
rivers flow aimlessly around each bend
My longing for you will
never come to end
Unlike a river in time
reaches its final goal
The
ache consumes a deeper path within my very soul
The
untamed wilderness seems so never ending and vast
I
don’t believe you ever loved me in the past
Like
cascading waterfalls forever releasing ribbons of their tears
My
hidden tears of silence will go on for all my years
Steadily
nature boasts the beauty of its flowers far and wide
I
would have been so proud to have you always at my side
Eroded
cliffs and canyons show their age from wind and rain
Just
as my eyes show age from endless sorrow and deep pain
The
mountain dew plays kissing games as it dances across the forest floor
Unfair
were the games you played that hurt me to hearts core
The
mystic fog meanders and caresses each forest tree
Wishing
I could walk the caverns of your heart, yet knowing it can’t be
Gentle
wind singing sweet songs of yesterday throughout the night
Only
bittersweet memories I have in darkness to hold to tight
With
time, the valleys whisper many secrets but no one hears
The
forest my sole listener of my secrets, and my fears
Now
I walk my final path alone there’s no one here to guide me
I
now become a valley secret an insignificant fading memory
Listen…can
you hear the whispers?
