Program Philosophy

Children with Special Needs ~
Children with Special needs are accepted on a case-by-case basis.

Approach to Learning ~
Children enrolled in my program are allowed to be children.  They
are not pushed to walk before they are ready, be potty trained before
they are ready, pushed to share when they don't understand the meaning of the word.  They are not made to recite letters, numbers, colors or shapes. We learn these things through play.  They are allowed to be
children here.  They have hands on activities and experiences.

I do not believe it is healthy for the children to sit in front of the T.V. all day.  Television time is very limited.  We are outside most of the day in the summer-time.  A lot of our crafts are done on the back deck, which is screened in.

The children are taught table manners, how to line up and how to help and respect others.  I try very
hard t
o get them ready for school.  We have fun and the children play hard.  I stress old clothes.

I try very hard to limit "time outs".

Daily Schedule

5:30 to 8:30 ~ Arrival, breakast, free play and get ready for school, (older children go to the bus stop).

With my little ones being four and under I don't use a set schedule. We just go with the flow...We have a lot of learning, play and art projects, but I usually take my clue from the kids and their moods for the day.

Monthly Themes & Projects

We are now working on Mother's Day and Spring projects.

Pop is getting the soil ready for the kids to plant a small garden.
We are making a tulip garden out of hand prints for Mother's Day with pictures.

We take a lot of pictures at Me-Maws Daycare!
