Meanwhile, outside Autobot City on Earth, a boy and an Autobot were fishing. The boy was Daniel, the young son of Spike, and the Autobot was his best friend, Hot Rod. Hot Rod tried to cheer up Daniel, who missed his dad far away on Moonbase2.
Hot Rod transformed, and they sped to Look-out mountain, the highest point around Autobot City. Daniel was watching the shuttle making through a telescope when he noticed something wrong: "Hot Rod, there's a hole in the shuttle!"Indeed, a hole in the side of the ship- full of Decepticons! Hot Rod immediately opened fire on the shuttle, hoping to blast them out of the sky before they do any damage. The Decepticons abandoned the ship and began an attack from the sky to the land. Hot Rod and Daniel were blasted from Look-out mountain and narrowly landed on the edge of a cliff.
Blitzwing transformed from his aircraft mode to a tank and aimed his deadly sites on Hot Rod and Daniel. In the nick of time, the old war hero Kup sped to the scene, twisted Blitzwing's barrel just enough to divert the shot to save his friends and blast the unlucky Shrapnel. Realising they have not a moment to waste, the Autobots transformed and raced towards Autobot City- The city's occupants most be warned that their security system had been penetrated!
Before Hot Rod, Kup, and Daniel reached the walls of the City, Autobot Perceptor saw a sky full of ships. Ultra Magnus, the City Commander, evaulated the Autobots were badly outnumbered and needed to organise the defenses.
Springer and Arcee dodged the continuous air attacks from Starscream to activate the City's defences. Beneath the city walls and floors, gears began to turn slowly, opening hidden compartments, unleashing banks of mighty laser cannons. The City changed into a battle-ready fortress....Hot Rod and Kup managed to break into the city through a blasted hole, just before the shield resealed itself. Megatron, determined to break the city's defenses, ordered his men to increase their attack.
Explosions and laser fire flashed all around the City as the Autobots and Decepticons battled it out head to head. All afternoon, a continuous Decepticon barrage of rocket fire and cannon blasts pounded the City's walls.
The Autobots' only hope now was to request help from Optimus Prime. As Blaster broadcasted the transmission, Soundwave sent Rumble, Frenzy, Ravage and Ratbat to interfere. Did the message get through before the Decepticons destroyed the transmitter? There was no time for Perceptor and Blaster to wonder as the Decepticon Cassettes broke into the radio tower. Blaster retaliated by despatching the Autobot Cassettes to fight.
