As dusk set, the defences of Autobot City began to weaken. The Decepticon army penetrated to the interior walls of the City. Even Blur's fast shooting could not keep the Decepticons at bay. The evil warriors closed in, outside the range of the City's laser guns. Arcee dragged some of the Autobot casualties inside.Realising Megatron was going to make his big push, Springer led the other Autobots to set up the rocket launcher. Together Springer, Kup, Hot Rod, Arcee and Daniel managed to push the heavy launcher into place and aimed at the gathering Decepticons outside.
Megatron ordered the Constructicons to unite. The quick units leaped onto each other to create a huge force of evil. Danny and Kup stared in disbelief.
In front of their eyes, the Constructicons fit together to build Devastator, a single giant force of destruction.
"Prepare for extermination!" the giant robot boomed in a deep terrible voice.
No weapon in Autobot City even slowed down the bulk of Devastator. Autobot rockets exploded around him, leaving him unharmed. He brushed them aside and tore at the seemingly invinsible walls of the City. Pulling a large chunk of the wall from its foundations, he threw it at the Autobots and the launcher.
The Autobots put up brave resistance throughout the night, holding out against the Decepticons. By dawn however, Autobot City was reduced to smoke and rubble. Devastator finally ripped through the walls of Autobot City.
"Their defences are broken. Let the slaughter begin!" Megatron cried triumpantly.
This could be the end!
But there was hope! The transmission had reached Optimus Prime, and with a roar of jets, his ship approached.
