& Home Business Day/Expo
The Small & Home Business Day/Expo is a high profile event for small
business owners who offer quality products, services, and business opportunities,
including franchises and distributorships. This business trade event is
sponsored by the National Association of Home Based Businesses, (NAHBB)
and is a major part of its intermediate growth and expansion program.
The expansion program is a middle-step growth strategy for business owners
who are leaving home or need additional support for their business ventures
while still at home.
Rudy Lewis, president of NAHBB explains that the business expos are used as mini-trade shows to expose small and home based businesses to local, national, and international markets. This low cost promotion and marketing event uses community-shopping centers and malls that have thousands of customers visiting daily. Business owners and consumers attracted by the business expo contribute to the event’s success. The event is a low cost way to take a business to the next marketing level.
MyOwnBiz, a Prince George’s County business, will be the host contact for the Capital Plaza Mall business expo. MyOwnBiz offers in-depth, real-world training opportunities to young people (8–18 years old) who are interested in learning about entrepreneurship, personal finances, and business. Case studies of local businesses are analyzed by the youth and internship opportunities are made available.
The Small & Home Business Day/Expo will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2002, from 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m., in Prince George’s County Maryland at Capital Plaza Mall. The Mall is located at 6200 Annapolis Road, Landover Hills, Maryland. There will be free workshops, display exhibits, entertainment and a variety of products and services that can support new or existing business ventures.
