Chapter 95, Perfect

"Wake up! We have two days left. C'mon!" Breanna yelled as she tugged on Howie's arm trying to pull him out of bed. She was failing miserably. "Bree, it's the butt crack of dawn and you wore me out last night. The least you could do is let me sleep in." Howie groaned as an evil smile appeared on her lips. "Lately I've been wearing you out. I'm starting to think that your age is starting to catch up with you." Breanna replied as she walked away towards the bathroom. "Oh you're gonna pay for that!" Howie shouted as he realized that she had just insulted him. "I'll pay for it later...now go get ready! I want to leave." Breanna said as Howie wrapped his arms around her waist. Howie's arms dropped from her waist when he realized that he wasn't going to get anything special that morning. "So, where are we going since we only have today and tomorrow left?" He questioned while putting toothpaste on his toothbrush. "You said you had a surprise for me today so let's do that first." Breanna stated as she walked out of the bathroom to pick out something to wear. "Oh shit..." Howie mumbled when he realized that he had forgotten all about the surprise.

Breanna found a pair of tight black dress pants that flared at the bottom. She coupled the pants with a short white v-neck shirt with a violet cardigan over it. She tossed her hair up into a bun and grabbed a chopstick that she and Howie didn't use the night before when they ate take-out in their hotel room and put it through her bun to secure it. She put a dot of red lip gloss on, some wondercurl mascara and pinched her cheeks for color. She looked herself over and was satisfied. Breanna heard the water turn off from the shower and decided to get Howie's honest opinion. His facial expression was the opinion she wanted as she slowly opened the bathroom door. A gust a thick, moist steam hit Breanna in the face as she walked into the bathroom. Howie had just stepped out of the shower completely naked not expecting to see Breanna waiting for him. "Nice..." Breanna whispered to herself as she admired his body. "You're definitely 100% Latin Lover." She told him as he looked at her in shock. "What? I see you naked all the time! Get over it. Now what do you think of this outfit." Breanna demanded as she watched his face. His expression didn't change as he continued to look at her in shock. After a while she realized that that was his reaction to what she was wearing. "You look...perfect." He replied as a slow smile appeared on his lips. Breanna quickly glanced around the bathroom and grabbed the nearest towel. "Stop undressing me with your eyes, Dorough." She joked as she tossed the towel to him before walking out of the bathroom.

Howie walked out of the bathroom and was smacked in the face with thick fabric. He could hear Breanna giggling and knew that she was in a childish mood. He pulled the fabric off his face and looked down to see that it was one of his shirts. "I want you to wear that." Breanna said as she picked up the phone. "You want me to wear my DK shirt? Okay, fine with me." He replied as he put on the black, button-down, semi-shimmery shirt. He found his lose black pants folded neatly on the bed and put them on as well while he watched Breanna intensely. Breanna hung up the phone and looked up at Howie smiling. "Eve said that Anna is fine. She's fussy with Eve but not fussy with Kevin." "That's because she's daddy's girl." Howie smirked. Breanna playfully smacked him on the butt before walking over to the closet to put her shoes on. She walked back over to Howie as he sat on the edge of the bed putting his shoes on as well. Howie stood up and was surprised to see that Breanna was still shorter than he was. "I decided to be kind to you today by wearing flats." She joked before kissing him. She deepened the kiss while she ran her long fingers through his hair. She could feel the excitement in him starting to build before she pulled back. "Okay, enough teasing. What's the surprise?" She asked excitedly. "Oh jeez! C'mon..." He growled as he took her hand and lead her out of the hotel.

Breanna came barreling down the windy staircase screaming happily as Howie watched her from the end of the stairs. When she reached the last step she threw herself into his arms causing him to fall backwards. "I'm guessing you like it." Howie said from the floor, smiling from ear to ear. "Like it? I LOVE it!" She shouted before kissing him. "Well...I'm glad you love it, because it's ours. It's not rented at all. I bought it last year for us." Howie confessed. Breanna's eyes grew large from shock. "For us? It's ours? I mean, no one else owns this?" She asked hurriedly. Howie laughed before giving Breanna a soft kiss. "No one else owns this. It's ours." He replied. "Ohmigod! It's huge! It's beautiful! It's 8 rooms! It's 10 bathrooms! It's three story's! It's incredible! It's OURS? Yippee!!" Breanna screamed out as she climbed off Howie and started dancing around the empty living room. "This is perfect! Now my life is perfect. I have the perfect house in LA. I live in another perfect house in Orlando. I have the perfect career and friends and daughter and man. And *now* I have the perfect house in the English countryside!" Breanna continued to dance around the house while Howie got up off the ground.

Howie felt around for his back pocket and pulled out his little bible that AJ had brought to him at the airport. He opened the bible and pulled out a small velvet box. Breanna was too busy being excited to notice what Howie was doing until she realized that he was being too quiet. Breanna stopped dancing, screaming and yelling and turned to face Howie. She noticed that he was looking down at his hand, being very quiet. It wasn't normal for him and she knew something was up. "Hun?" She questioned as she walked slowly up to him. He looked up at her with a serious face causing Breanna to go quiet. "Is everything really perfect for you?" He questioned as Breanna nodded her head in response. "I don't think it could get any better than this." She replied quietly. "It couldn't?" "No, it couldn't." She answered. "But what about me?" He asked. "I'm sorry, I don't understand. What's wrong?" She asked. "Nothing's wrong. I'm just asking what about me. What if everything isn't perfect for me?" "It's not perfect for you?" She finally asked when she realized what his question meant. "Almost except for one thing." He answered. "What's missing?" "You." He replied. "Me?" She asked, taken back. "You forever." He answered firmly looking straight past her eyes and into her soul. Breanna felt the air leave her lungs. She was confused but his words were so strong. "I want you forever. I want you to be my wife." He stated quietly. Breanna didn't reply because she didn't have the air needed to speak. "I can't live without you. I can't picture my life without you and now we have Anna. I just want us to make it official." He said as he revealed the small velvet box. He opened it slowly to reveal a platinum diamond ring. The diamond was in the shape of a large heart. Breanna felt tears come to her eyes as she glanced from the ring to Howie. "After all the shit I've put you through. After all the pain I've caused. After everything...you still want me?" She questioned. "Bree, that was just one year out of, hopefully, many more. I put it behind me because I have you back." He answered. He watched as Breanna stared at the ring. A few minutes of silence went by before he noticed that Breanna was putting her hand up. "Well, put it on me." She demanded quietly as a smile spread across her face. Howie slowly slipped on the ring before pulling Breanna to his body. "I'm not going to let you go." He whispered into her hair. "I don't want you to let me go." Breanna said quietly back to him.

A few hours passed as they continued to stay in each others arms. They walked around the house and went outside for a little while to check out the landscaping. Breanna and Howie talked seriously about what being engaged meant and what, if anything, would change between them. As the sun started to go down Howie and Breanna drove 20 miles down the road to a small shopping plaza to pick up dinner. After they ate a small dinner Breanna went upstairs while Howie made plans about what they were going to do to the living room. Breanna came back downstairs and noticed that Howie was smiling to himself as he stared out into the unknown. "You okay?" She asked as she sat down on the couch, the only real piece of furniture in the living room. "Yeah, I'm fine. I just realized that I'm almost officially off the market." He jokingly replied. "Eh, no real lose to the female species. They probably never noticed that you were around anyway." She shot back. "Man, that hurt, babe. That really did." He replied with a smiled. "I try." She smiled back. "Hey Bree, I'll be right back. I'll be outside if you need me." Howie said as he stood up to walk outside, making sure not to forget his cellphone. Breanna snuggled against the back of the couch as she thought about what happened that day. She was becoming lost in thought until she heard Howie shouting on the top of his lungs into his phone, "SHE SAID YES!"
