Chapter 82, A Condo Back Home |
"C'mon, Breen! We have to do this." Howie begged as he tried to drag Breanna out of bed. "Oh, go to your room and leave me alone." She sulked. "I give up!" He shouted, leaving the room quickly. Nick was passing down the hall and over heard the latest argument. "Well, at least you two aren't back together again. This would be hell!" He joked as he walked into the room. "Oh, not you, too!" She whined with her head in her pillow. "How can you do that? I mean, doesn't that stomach get in the way?" Breanna sat up quickly and glared at Nick. He put his hands up defensively. "Sorry! I'm just trying to make you laugh." He stated. "Well, I feel ugly and fat and all I've been doing is arguing with D. We haven't even talked about the baby and I'm already 7 months along." She complained quietly, staring at her hands. Nick walked across the room and took a seat on the bed next to Breanna. "All the arguing, that's your business and between you and D, but he is right. You have to go and help clean out your brothers house. It's already sold and nothing's been moved out. I know it's going to be hard, but you have to do it. Besides, we'll all be there for you. All you have to do is order us around while you kick back and stuff your face since you're eating for two, and all." Nick flashed her a sideways grin while Breanna smacked him in the shoulder. "Alright, fine, we'll go. Just give me a little time to get ready. This baby is starting to grow a lot and it's harder to do things." Breanna commented as she got up to walk towards the bathroom. "You know, you're right! You're huge! Last month you didn't look too pregnant, but now. Wow!" Nick said in amazement as he stared at Breanna. "Oh, don't make me feel worse, Nick." Nick laughed as he walked out of the bedroom giving her time to herself. "Thanks, man." Howie said from the hallway where he had been listening to the two talk. Nick shrugged in response and continued to walk down the hallway.
"What cars are we taking?" Brian asked from the kitchen. Breanna made her way down the stairs with little ease as everyone watched with different grins and smiles. "Okay, this is hard enough. The least you men could do is help me." She complained. Brian and Howie jumped up but Breanna brushed them off. "I was being sarcastic." She said as she walked straight past them. "Well, D doesn't have his rental anymore since he's using Lex's car. We have Breanna's car and her dad's SUV. So, I think we're all set." Kevin explained to Brian. "I'm driving the SUV!" Nick shouted. "I'm driving Bree's car!" Brian yelled. "Then I get to drive Lex's car." AJ stated, as he walked back upstairs to his room. "No, it's okay. You don't have to ask me." Breanna replied pointedly to Brian. Brian shrugged with a silly smirk on his face. "Fine, it's okay." She said quietly.
"Too bad Mya and Natasha had to go home. I miss them." Breanna said as she walked around the kitchen putting away dishes that the guys had left out. Howie gave Nick and Brian a glare for not putting their things away. "Oh hey, Bree! We'll do that." Nick said, almost fearful of Howie's vengeance. Breanna laughed and stepped back, almost tripping on Howie. He quickly wrapped his arms around her waist to steady her. The baby kicked his hand causing Breanna to jump. "You okay?" He asked. "No. That hurt! The baby always does that to you." She commented, walking away. "You need to eat, Bree!" He called out to her as he watched her walk upstairs. "I'll eat later." Howie sighed, "Why does she always have to argue with me?"
Breanna walked into her office to look over a few papers. She read the lease over and over again before deciding to sign it. She picked up her pen and signed it quickly before her conscious told her to stop. Before long, she was faxing the lease over to the East Coast. Almost happy with what she had done, she walked out of the office only to be stopped by Eve. "What were you doing?" She asked, looking over Breanna's shoulder. "Faxing something." "You signed the lease, didn't you?" She asked. Breanna nodded her head slowly as a small grin appeared on her face. "Good! You need to get back home!" Eve replied, giving Breanna a long hug. "I know. This place is too much right now. With Lex gone and all the problems with Howie, I really do need to get back home. Maybe we'll be able to work this out, but until then, I can't stay here anymore." Breanna explained as both women walked down the stairs towards the game room.
When they entered the room, no one was around. They both took seats on two different couches to talk about what was about to happen. "So, you're going to keep this place, right?" Eve asked. "Yes! I've put too much into this house and I love it. There will always be bad memories but there are still good ones here, too. This place is still my home." Breanna said, looking around the room. "No, it's the home of the BSB!" Eve joked. "Yeah, I guess the guys like this place." Eve giggled, "Understatement of the year! If Nick isn't at his parents house visiting everyone, then he's glued to this place. He won't even go out clubbing with everyone because he's afraid he'll miss something. Miss what, I don't know." Breanna looked at Eve and started to giggle. "Like old times..." Breanna murmured. "I know. That's why I want you to move back home. This place is home, but Orlando is our *real* home. That's where every thing we've ever loved is, Bree. Your life, your love, your career, and your happiness. This place is just...it's just nice. But it's not home." Breanna thought about what her friend had to say and realized she was right. "Are you going to tell them?" Breanna thought about the question. "I have this surge of energy at the moment, so, I think so. Let's go tell them before I lose my nerve." Breanna said as she left the room with Eve on her heels.
Howie and AJ were in the living room waiting for Breanna to decide when she wanted to leave. Kevin and Brian were in the kitchen doing dishes and cleaning the refrigerator out while Nick was at the kitchen table going over some notes that he had taken at their last management meeting. Breanna and Eve walked into the kitchen causing Kevin to look up. They could tell that she had something to say. "Living room." Eve mouthed to Kevin. He nodded and had Nick and Brian follow him into the adjoining room. Howie and AJ were talking when Howie looked up to see the five others walk into the room. "What's up?" AJ asked. "Well, she has something to say." Eve said, motioning for Breanna to speak. "Yeah I do. Um, I just got done signing a lease a few minutes ago..." "For what?" Nick questioned. "NICK!" Kevin and Brian shouted. "Jeez, I'm just curious." Nick replied. Breanna smiled sympathetically at Nick. "It's a lease for a condo. In Orlando. I'm moving back next week hopefully. I just need to get away from this place. Nothing's going right with me, the baby, you guys, or you." Breanna said, pointedly at Howie. Howie looked up from the ground; He could tell that she was serious. He got out of his chair and walked over to her, taking her in his arms. She laid her head on his shoulders and listened to his heart beating. "I hate to say this, but we have to go. It's getting late." Kevin replied. Breanna broke away from Howie with a look of fear in her eyes. "Yeah, okay. Let's go." She said, walking out the front door quickly. Howie looked at the others and shook his head. "Give her some time!" Brian said quietly, patting Howie on the back.
It was almost midnight and everyone was finishing sealing the last of the boxes. All the furniture in the house, covered with large sheets, had been sold to the new owners. Breanna laid on one of the couches, passed out. Howie had a box in his arms that he was taking out to the car when he noticed Breanna asleep. He smiled to himself and continued to walk out the door. On his way back in, he stopped at one of the rose bushes and picked the prettiest white rose he could find in the dark. He walked back into the house and placed it on top of Breanna's large stomach. He watched her sleep and laughed to himself when he saw the rose move quickly. "That baby is going to drive her nuts." He thought when he realized how active it was. Breanna felt someone staring at her as she woke up. She opened her eyes slowly as she put her hand to her stomach. "Ow!" She cried out. "You're not supposed to touch the thorns." Howie replied. Breanna glared at him for a moment before she laughed. "Happy Birthday." He said quietly. Breanna laid there, thinking for a moment. "Oh my God, I totally forgot!" She stated loudly. "You forgot that it's your birthday?" Howie laughed. "Yes! I've had other things on my mind lately." She replied. "We're done!" They heard Nick shout. "Finally!" Breanna said as she saw AJ, Nick and Brian walk out the front door with different sized boxes filled with her brothers old things. "Where are the other two?" Breanna asked Howie. "Kevin and Eve? I don't know." He said as he thought about the last time he saw either of them. "Probably 'blessing' one of the rooms." AJ replied as he walked back into the house. "Oh, that's sick! I'd tell them to get a room but..." Breanna trailed off as she, AJ and Howie laughed. "Okay, let's go!" Eve called out as she and Kevin walked through the house with boxes. Breanna looked Eve over and whispered something into Howie's ear. Both started laughing. "What?" Eve asked. "Um, Eve, you may want to go into the bathroom and put your shirt on the right way since it's inside out." Breanna replied.
