The last few days have been very eventful; so much so that I haven't
even had a chance to sit down in front of my computer and write. Last
night I'd contemplated sitting down and taking the 15 minutes or so
and just journaling, but one thing after another came about and Merlin
ended up spending the night. The first three or four days of summer
have been wonderful. So wonderful that I don't even remember if today
is the third or fourth day of summer. Isn't that ironic? I love it.
Anyway, let me try to trace back in my memories and describe the last
few days worth of events to you all.
I think this all started on Friday, when we went down to get Liz's passport.
Yes, she decided to go to Australia for two weeks. I was very excited
for her, and was looking forward to spending the time in the car with
her. We got along pretty well most of the way, but at times she was
in a lot of pain. She actually had to go through a lot of stress, which
wasn't very good for her, but I suppose city driving is stressful for
everyone and we just have to live through it. Her doctor told her she
experienced a mild heart attack on the way home from the city. Both
her and I think it was when she got really grumpy and got into a skirmish
with me. It turned out fine, because we ended up getting along for the
rest of the car ride really well, and things went great from then on;
she even got her passport! (Wee!)
Saturday was a day I'd been looking forward to all week. For the evening,
we'd made plans to go see The Sound of Music (my parents birthday present
to Liz), and then I was scheduled to spend the night at her house. The
show was definitely one of the best musicals I've seen put into action
for some time, and being with Liz, and just holding her hand that evening
was very nice. We would have gone out to eat afterwards with Jon and
Sherri (and my parents) to Charro's, but Liz really didn't feel well
so we decided to head back to her place.
At her house, the first thing we both did was change. After that, we
went and played a game of pool, sat down, watched a movie, and then
out of nowhere her cousin Chris called and was wondering if he could
come over. While we waited for him to come over, Liz wrote her friends
some e-mails. When he arrived, Liz and I played a little sexual joke
on him - since they're cousins and everything, and she has a couch that
has a high back, she pretended to be having sex with me right while
Chris walked in the door. His reaction was hilarious. We must have laughed
for five minutes. Chris and I went on the entire night cracking jokes
about how he's gay (which he's not - he is one of the straightest people
I know) - and we kept insulting each other. Eventually we ended up wrestling
in the house. He weighs a lot more than I do and can really throw me
around, but for my size and physical condition I think I held my own
pretty well.
When he left around 5:00 in the morning, Liz and I finally had a chance
to be alone and visit together before she left. We started off by talking,
and then we started kissing, etc. Somehow, we accidently managed to
break the bracelets I made her, so I'm planning on dropping by her house
and fixing them while she's still in Australia. I want to be more romantic
for her. I want to court her. I want to be the best boyfriend for her
I can possibly be. Anyway, we once again went the farthest we've gone
together, and she actually didn't pass out or anything afterwards. That
night however, earlier, when Chris had been there, she had a horrible
spell of passing out. She really wasn't feeling well that evening. I
really love Liz, I want her to take care of herself.
Sunday was Father's Day. Since Liz and I were up until about 7 or 8
in the morning, and I woke up around 10, I was very tired. Sunday was
also the day of Liz's departure. When I drove back home and spent time
with my Father, I was tired, and groggy for most of the day. I eventually
took naps - yes, naps - several of them. They were tiny, thirty or forty
minute naps that left me even more tired than before because my body
just wanted more. My Dad liked both my gift and my card though, and
we spent a little bit of time together, so I felt good about the situation.
That evening, Nick Wheeler offered to swing by and pick me up (and later
drive me home) so that I could see Liz off at the airport. It must have
been one of the most entertaining experiences of my life to be in that
car with Liz, Merlin, Jon Paul, and Nick. We had a great time, and we
made the last few hours of Liz being in our country for the next two
weeks as good as they could possibly be. We had even more fun after
Liz was gone though - and went to a McDonalds and told horrible jokes,
and talked a bunch. Liz actually called from the airport and told us
her flight had been delayed, so we talked for about twenty minutes.
When I finally got home, I collapsed on my bed and slept until near
noon on Monday.
Monday was also pretty awesome. I went job shopping, which was very
cool, because I both want and need a job. I need the income because
I'm slowly losing money, and yet there's quite a few things I would
like to buy. It won't be hard for me to get a job, but the problem is
that my job has physical limitations due to the problem in my Meniscus
(the actual torn portion of my knee). Oh yes - the results of my MRI
scan showed that my Meniscus had been torn on two sides, and that I
need surgery which will require four to six months of healing. Yes,
I'll miss Cross Country, but I can continue to work out over the summer,
at least my upper body. I should also be able to do other exercises
in physical therapy. It won't be too bad, but I'm terribly upset about
the whole situation. That evening, I went over to Merlin's house, and
then I drove Merlin over to mine and we watched Men In Black II with
my parents and he spent the night. Merlin is one of the best people
I know. He's always so supportive and playful. You know you have a good
best friend when he looks out for you, and plays cheesy board games
with you, and puts up with you when your angry or frustrated - but most
of all when he both listens and criticizes you. Merlin goes beyond just
doing that for me though - he also supports me. We had an amazing discussion
that lasted until near 4:00A.M., where we talked about so many different
things that I honestly don't have time to write down in here - but they
covered a broad spectrum of my life. He told me how much he loves my
girlfriend - emotionally though, not physically, and that touched me.
I'm not jealous of the situation because I love Merlin as well, and
the thing that's the best about all this is that my best friend and
my girlfriend get along, which makes for some awesome get-togethers.
Today is Tuesday. Merlin and I woke up around 1:00 P.M., ate cereal
and cinnamon rolls, went outside and played basketball, then he left
around 3:30. At 3:45, my mom and I drove to a doctor's appointment for
my knee surgery preemptive checkup. We finally left at 6:15. We had
a great dinner, and I played some great video games. I should probably
right those Thank-You cards, but right now I really don't feel up to
it. I know for sure I'll finish them tomorrow because I'll absolutely
force myself to do them. Maybe I'll call Ryan tomorrow and see what
he's up to.
The highlight of the last four days was simple. Right before Liz left
on the plane, I told her I love her, as I have been doing for a few
weeks now. She had never told me she loves me - but rather that she
doesn't want to have sex with me until she loves me, and that she doesn't
love me, etc. etc. She would also say that she had feelings for me,
but she didn't know what they are. She told me specifically, "I
love you too", which meant a lot to me, especially since she is
so careful with her words. She also spelled it out in an e-mail, which
was nice to see both in print and to hear in my ear. It made me euphoric.
Team Sexy got three new members today. Good ones. Active ones. Expand
the empire.
My friends - I am exhausted. I am going to sleep for many hours. But
first, I must play both against and with Merlin in some insane Starcraft
gameplay. Whoot!
Later all!
