Entry One-Hundred Eighty-Three

300m Odometer

And once again I glance down at the odometer of my life and it rolls by, tenths of a mile at a time. Actually, since I'm a track runner I might as well make it in meters, and today I was running 300 meter sprints and I did that nine times in a row, so I might as well change the odometer to be based off of 300 meters and make it so there are only nine numbers in the number 10, because the number "10" is so insignificant it doesn't count. (Tired Bob Joke).

That last day has been a bit more relaxing than the last week, but weekends are still packed. Sunday was obviously Mother's Day . . . It was really cool to be able to spend time with my mom - we went and saw X2 (X-Men 2), which we're all fans of. We actually used to sit down and watch the cartoon together, and I've read a few of the comics. The cartoon used to be awesome, with the sentinals and all those cool machines blowing up and stuff like that. They still haven't incorporated my favorite X-Men Character though - Gambit. He's hardcore. Although I must say they did a really good job with the special effects on Pyro, Iceman, and Nightcrawler. I'm waiting to see Omega-Red though, that'll be so amazing. Anyway, for Mother's Day I got my mom a bottle of her favorite juice that she hasn't had in a few years: Pinapple Coconut. It's actually my favorite juice as well, we have similar tastes. I love the flavor of coconut in general, it's really appealing to me. Also for mother's day, I made my mom a special sort of Scratchboard card - I believe I talked about it before, but it's a lot like scratchboard, where you lay out a bunch of colored crayons, color over them with black crayon, and then scratch the black crayon away to leave a really cool rainbow surface underneath a black background. Othe than that - we went out to a Chinese Food dinner at Peking Chef.

I've been explaining that "Peking" is pronounced "Bay Jing" (Bejing), but a lot of people who don't know history don't seem to believe me. Good ol' history.

I've been contacting people about my birthday party, which should be held on the 24th. If I've forgotten to contact you, let me know. You're important. The problem is I've been calling a lot of people. I'd almost say it's stressful, but it's not quite there yet.

I feel as though I'm really pushing myself in Track lately. The last meet is this Saturday - the Sonoma County League Finals. I have a feeling I will do well. Speaking of foreshadowing (on the same sort of topic) - we have a chemistry test coming probably by the end of this week, and a Math test on Friday. Interesting, isn't it?

Cristy gave me another little dragon tattoo stickery thing for my wall today. She's such a sweetie. What a great and thoughtful friend.

When I got home at 5:00 today I had a snack, did my homework, and took a shower. Before I knew it, I was looking at 8:00. The life of a student is a busy one. I just want some time to sit down, read, and let my mind relax so that I can experience some of the things that are overlooked in life . . . the simple things . . . the sound of the rain just outside your window, or the opposite: a gentle beam of sunlight trickling through your dark curtains. It's the artistic things that are the most motivational for me.

I talked to Mrs. Zavoiko today about the election. She runs the Leadership class, which includes the ASB offices. I found out that I'm attending a workshop on Sunday from 9:00A.M. to Monday at 7:00P.M.. That's a lot of leadership. Not to mention I had to move my party because of it. Darned inconvenient leadership skills! Oh well, good qualities to have in the long run so it's definitely worth it.

My bird's out, she's on my arm. I can barely feel her there except for the fact that she's preening me. Occasionally it hurts, especially when she bites harder and pulls out a hair. I'll gently jerk my arm and she knows she's too into the situation, or that her tongue is caught up in the "tall forests" of my arm hair. I really don't think I'm all that hairy, especially compared to some of the guys I've seen out there. I'm not trying to be defensive, just realistic. Anyways, she's a cutie.

Speaking of hair. I'm shaving on the night of the 14th with my Dad. I believe I'm buying my electric razor that day as well. We've been talking about a "Wahl" electric razor or something like that. Who knows. I'm new to it.

I've been calling people nearly this entire time. It's almost 8:30. I'm getting tired, and really just want a chance to relax. Perhaps I'll sit down and make myself a cup of Oolong tea with honey or sugar and read a chapter in Demian leisurely. That sounds like a plan to me.

Take care my friends.

P.S. Calling my friends was really cool - with each of them I had a unique and fun conversation: Miguel and trebuchets, Jennah and stuff, Omega and stuff, Alissa and stuff - and so on. Everything was just cool. Speaking of cool, I finally have a chance to breathe, at least for 30 minutes until I play Starcraft with some friends. Even a game can be intense.

Something I should have included in the entry is that school is going well. I'm thinking about whether or not I made it into the AP Classes next year a lot, mainly because I really want to get in badly. I guess what's done is done though, and that if I didn't make it into the class that it was rigged against me. That's the only reason of course (sarcasm and cynicism). Time to go read, I love reading. And I have some paperwork and other things I need to fill out around here. And actually now that I think about it I have to call David and Cirkl about the Lindy Hop private lessons they offered to me last Friday. Take care all.
