Entry One-Hundred Seventy-Six

Wave Splasher

So, I already described waking up, but allow me to summarize my day. We had eggs and bagels for breakfast - very good bagels, iffy on the eggs. We went our different ways after breakfast; my mom, dad, and I took off to go get my Dad a rental car so he could do his business while my mom and I did the things we wanted to do; talk, visit Santa Clause Lane, she told me the story of "PFO" (Poor Fucking Owl - long story . . . but basically he's a decoration in my bathroom made by my cousin Mark) - the Gaviota train station, memories, about tomorrow's plans, and going to the beach.

Santa Clause Lane was rather disappointing, but the beach was terrific! I had such a nice run. I ran 3-4 miles barefoot through the sand and waves, not stopping for the water when it would crawl out from the ocean to capture me.

We got back to our cousin's house and I took an unexpected two hour nap! It felt good, but I was surprised at myself. I read some of The Stranger, enjoyed that, read to Daryanna - Go, Dog, Go!, and had that interesting experience. she's killer cute, she reminds me of Shirley Temple.

I'm going to try to get Liz's address if there's the internet around here, so I can send her a letter from down here in Santa Barbara.

Daryanna gave me some sweet colored easter eggs (which were actually pieces of paper) that had hearts all over them. Some day I want to have kids - I want the responsibility, they seem to be well worth it - they're so adorable.

If I choose to attend UCSB, I'm going to make sure to come up here and visit Scott and Roseline as much as possible. They've got such great hospitality, and since they're both teachers they seem to be very good with kids. They're expecting another child, a little boy, in about 4 months.

We're going to go watch Swing Kids now, they rented it for me! What thoughtful people!

Take care my friends.
