The title says it all. Today was a very arobic, very strenuous, but very beneficial workout. We ran Hidden Lake road again, which is basically a 45 percent grade hill one way, and around 30 on the downhill, so you end up experiencing some hardcore running each way. Miguel and I still were tired from yesterday . . . we had a really great run. So, one of the more exciting things today: In Spanish class, we had a guest speaker who had a poetry contest toward the end of the period. He gave us some time to write a poem, in either English or Spanish, on feelings or emotions. He recommended using a metaphor. My poem was as follows: Eres mi amor Translated: You are my love For my poetic efforts, I won 1st prize, and was able to choose from two books: To Kill A Mocking Bird, or a novel in Spanish that the person had wrote. We could have also chosen $5 or a $5 gift certificate to McDonald's. I chose To Kill A Mocking Bird with no regrets. He signed it for me. Not only that, but now I can say I won a bilingual poetry contest! I am physically exhausted, and extremely hungry. Dinner is taking forever to cook. I'm actually writing this entry while it's cooking, and it's cooking properly. We've battered shrimp and are making spinach, and I believe we're also making fried rice. It'll be a pretty tasty dinner, when I can finally taste it. Liz called me back last night. I wonder if she'll call tonight as well. Maybe we can do something this weekend if we both have time. If not, next weekend. -- Later that night -- Liz called around 9:00ish, but I was sitting down to dinner. I called her back around 9:30 and we talked til around 10:30. I'm exhausted, need sleep. Good night. Back
