Entry One-Hundred Thirty-Five

A $120 Cake?

Waking up was one of the more difficult parts of the day. Good thing is I woke up able to cope with the situation last night, at least to a much further extent than last night. After eating breakfast, and going over to the church and doing one half of the cleaning job I needed to do to the church entryway, my Mom and I drove to the city to go and see my Grandma. It was good fun - my cousin Alan was there, and it was nice to see him in person rather than just be talking to him online. Anyway, the visit with Grandma went pretty well - she ended up sleeping, a lot, and breathing pretty hard, but overall she seemed pretty good to me while she was awake. We only stayed for about two hours though.

I was thinking about it . . . People come from all over the world to see the Golden Bridge and walk across it. We've driven down that path more in the last month than in our entire lives, does that make us fortunate to see such beauty? This statement has irony.

Tonight was by far the most . . . entertaining part of the day though. We were invited, as previously stated, to a pasta feed at Rancho Cotati by my oldest friend, Ryan. My Dad didn't feel like going, so we went and picked up one of my Mom's friends, so I could visit with Ryan and his friends from Tech High and she could have her own company and leave me in my privacy. It was good, because I was able to socialize and have fun with a new crowd. Well, sort of new - I've met them at Ryan's birthday party last year. I was surprised to see Sean there, Ryan's older brother, which was a welcomed surprise. Anyway, it was a pasta feed (same company as last night), but it was also a "cake auction" to sponsor the Robotics Club. The neat thing about the auction was that it was totally ridiculous. People were doing it for the sponsorship of the club, not the cakes. I've never seen four muffins go for $50. Or a simple white cake go for $120! I'm very happy that the club got so much money, but I find it hilarious.

There's really not all that much for me to think about today - except for perhaps the loads of upcoming English homework. I've chosen to intentionally not worry about homework until Monday. I'll probably read a bit tomorrow, but overall I'm trying to relax because last week was so mentally and emotionally stressful on me. Happy weekend all.

Take care my friends.
