[UL: FROM THE CUMBERLAND COUNTY HISTOR:UL]Y HAVENS, RALPH was born Aug 12,1897 in Cumberland Co., Ill. son of Emmett and Ida Mae (Ormsby) Havens. He was raised in and near Greenup and attended school in Greenup, graduating from High School here in 1917. He married Jesse Strater Oct 7, 1918 and settled near Greenup. They have spent some time in Flint, Mich. and Traer, Iowa after which they returned to Cumberland Co. They had three children: Dorothy, Gleneva, and Betty. They have lived on a farm in Cumberland and Clark Coes. since 1930, after returning from Flint, Mich. They now reside south of Casey, Ill.
