Husband's Notes
[UL: FROM THE CUMBERLAND COUNTY HISTOR:UL]Y HAVENS, CHARLES LEWIS, was the eldest son of Emmett and Ida Mae (Ormsby) Havens. He was born on Dec 25 1892 east of Greenup, Ill. He attended school at the Brushy Ridge Grade School and at the Greenup Public School. At the age of 18, he moved on a farm east of Greenup and started farming and raising livestock. On the 22th of Dec., 1912 he married Grace Louisa Miller, She was born March 6, 1895 a daughter of John and Dora Miller. She was raised in Clark and Cumberland Counties except two years spent in Huntington ,Tenn. with her parents and family. Grace and Charles spent four years in Flint, Mich., three years in Traer, Iowa, and three years in Mattoon, Ill. In 1930 they came back to Greenup and settled on a farm east of Greenup. They had 3 children: Charles Wendell born Aug 7, 1914 and died Oct. 1927, Raymond Keith born Aug 9, 1916. He spent one year in Military Training during W.W II and Martha Phyliss born Aug 19, 1932, all in Cumberland Co., Ill. Charles died Jan 10, 1960 and Keith and Grace now reside in Greenup. They are both members of the First Christian Church in Greenup, Ill.
