| During her travels, much happened to "Clarity-Jane". Among these things was the friendship she manifested with a minstrel. The girl was just younger than Jane, and a timid, doe-eyed little thing that was frightened of nearly everything. Jane learned why, and vowed to protect the girl forever. She was unable to keep this vow, however, when enormous deceit was crafted, and the small minstrel was burned alive in cruel vengeance just moments before Jane was able to get to her. Jane's world crumbled at her feet, and her facade fell apart. She was left broken for a long while. |

| From the ashes of this tragedy rose new enlightenment, however. At the age of fifteen, Jane realized who she truly was, with the help of a stubborn bardess of chastity, and a past enemy who just wouldn't go away. She was the strong, upright, honourable Jane Maichen, worthy of her family's name. She no longer had to pretend to be something she wasn't. She didn't need to be all powerful, or perfect. She just needed to be who she was, as well as she could. She had to heed her deceased friend's last words of wisdom. She needed to fly on her own wings. And she did. |
| Jane Maichen is a petite human female, standing roughly 5'2" and weighing around 100 lbs. She has long, very straight silver-blonde hair and large, expressive slate grey eyes. She is well-proportioned, slim and supple, possessing mild curves and sinewy muscles. Her face is angular, with a pointed chin and small nose, and a rather charmingly crooked smile. She was never beautiful as a child or adolescent, but grew into her looks later in life. Jane Maichen is skilled in swordsplay and archery. She has impeccable aim. She cannot wrestle or fight hand-to-hand for her life. She's afraid of storms, and greatly dislikes cats and boats. She's great with horses and children, however she cannot see herself as a mother. Her cooking could kill a cow, and her needlework is amazing. Jane Maichen is very stubborn and expressive. She has a tendency to yell. She's rather charming and witty and vastly intelligent. Her temper leaves much to be desired. She wants everyone to love her all the time. She often wants everyone to be happy. She's usually quite clever at disguising her feelings with a joke. She hates to cry. She also hates to be rebuked, and will stand up for herself as long as she feels it the right and honourable thing to do. |
