Classification system

The JCCH library follows an abbreviated Dewey Decimal System in classifying our materials.
Items designated for curriculum studies are identified by the category numbers 100, 200, 300, etc followed by the letter "C." Sometimes an area of curriculum study must be broken down into several sub-categories. In these instances, we use -01, or -02, etc to show the subcategories. For example,Language Arts curriculum is designated as 400 C; Early Readers are 401 C, and Penmanship is 402 C.

Items not designated as curriculum are classified according to the Dewey Decimal system and Dewey's Table of Standard Subdivisions

Items designated as training aides to curriculum are identified with a "TA" and follow the curriculum studies classification OR the Dewey System
