The Biblical spies who were sent to the Land of Israel presented their report on Tisha B'av - a day that became a day of weeping for generations.

However, Numbers 14:7 reports that two of the twelve spies presented a good report of the Land of Israel: Tova Haaretz me'od me'od.

Those who know modern Hebrew may feel that the name of the group should have been somewhat different.

Perhaps.

However, the name reflects the Biblical expression, and reminds everybody about that usage whenever a message arrives from the group.
