Support
for the Just Demands of the Teachers Movement in Iran
Thousands of teachers in Tehran, in an unprecedented gathering,
protested in front of the reactionary parliament of the Islamic
regime of Iran. Many workers accompanied the teachers to support
their just demands, which included demands for the right to have
an independent teacher association of Iran. The teachers shouted
teachers, students and workers unite, unite.
Even though the Interior Ministry of the regime refused to permit
the protest, as the teachers requested, courageous teachers from
various cities around Iran gathered with their colleagues in Tehran
to march from the parliament to Tehran University. The teachers
shouted that they did not believe that there was any bit of honesty
within the regime. When Faheemeh Haghighatjo, a member of parliament,
attempted to speak to them, the crowd stopped her and asked her
to first shown them her pay check, and shouted no nation has
seen such a shameless parliament. One brave teacher, addressing
the protesters said, I am not afraid to die. I would rather
die with honor than live in misery.

This is not an endorsement for terrorism; terrorist organizations and those
affiliated with Iraqi regime's "National Council of Resistance".
These hardworking and brave teachers risked their own safety and
security by ignoring the regimes attempt to silence them.
Their integrity and courage proves how strongly they feel about
the lies, injustice, and oppression of the Islamic regime.
The Organization of Iranian People Fadaee Guerrillas fully supports
the just and reasonable demands of our teachers and demand unconditional
freedom for teachers who were arrested during their gathering. We
ask all human rights organizations and groups to defend the rights
of teachers in Iran.
We call on all students and workers to join with and defend the
struggle of the teachers in Iran.
