| Comments: Hello Rachel, I am really impressed with your site and the wealth of information you provide. I had CFS/FMS and Migraines but finally found a doctor who helped me overcome each one. I am 100% again. I am currently writing a book to help others learn what I have over the years. I would like to know where you found the information you have listed on EBV, Migraines, etc. Thanks, Dan |

| Comments: Hi, Unfortunately, I have all the problems that you have, plus TMJ, burning mouth syndrome, irritable bowel, etc. Oh yes, big time drpression, too. I have had these problems, starting with fibromyalgia in 1975 when I was 35 years old just after a hyster ctomy. It's been downhill since then. At the onset, I lost 20 lbs. and have never been able to regain them. I have been to every type of physician that you could mention. I have been through the Mayo Clinic, and four excellent pain clinics in the Chic goland area. In addition, I have been to chiropractors, had 9 months of acupuncture, hypnotism, have seen psychiatrists and psychologists, taken probably every medication you could mention and the end result is that my pain has not gotten better over the years, to the contrary it has gotten steadily worse. I would love to be added to you newsletter list and please feel free to e-mail me at any time. I'm sure you've probably heard this before, but if they can send men to the moon, why can't they come up ith a medication that will at least give suffers like you and I some degree of relief. God bless you, [email protected] (Marilyn) |
| Comments: You are one of the most couragous people that I have ever had the pleasure to speak to. To be 16 and have so much knowledge, Nothing is going to keep you down. All my prayers are with you. Jeri And when you find the cure, Let me know. |
| Comments: I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia last fall(1999). I was a person who accomplished much in a day; living with my daytimer. This has left me with maybe 1/3 of my strength. |
| Comments: LOVELY SITE/WEBPAGE RACHAEL. CONGRADULATIONS. AND THANKS FOR ALL YOUR WORK. |
| Comments: Rachel, thanks for helping me out. In life, things can feel so miserable until you realize that you're not alone. And when you don't realize how alone other can feel, you lose touch with your humanity. You helped me get back in touch with my humanity. |

She is now the single parent of a one and a half year old daughter. The three of us l ve together. I have done a great deal of the care of the baby. And with the outlook on life that you have I am sure that you will. God Bless you. |
| Comments: Hi, Rachel....I just read your e-mail and landed here. I have never "signed" a guest book on the net before. Your note was so sweet that I had to come here. Sorry, kiddo, I was not prepared. It seems that every day, since having gone on-line, I find so ething that just hits a nerve and makes me cry. You've just shown me again how important it is for us to touch eachother, as well as to allow ourselves to be touched. My daughter is 8, and is also spunky. She is always looking for ways to help...Perhaps I should hook her up with you? PLEASE let me know how I can touch you....besides reminding you not to lose sight of the fact that you need to enjoy yourself as a teenager above all else... Thank you, XOXO, Caryn |

| Comments: Rachel, You are an amazing young woman. Your parents should be very proud to have raised someone who would never give up or give in. You give of yourself very unselfishly and have maturity far beyond your years. You are out there making a difference, and this is something that people 3 an 4 times your age have not done. You cannot be truly happy unless you give of yourself to others. It is a very unselfish person who can look beyond the "ME" and "I" and put other people's needs ahead of their own. But the people who have learned to give of themselves are those people that are truly happy, regardless of money, health, age, etc. I'm sure you are a blesing to many. Keep up the good work !! |

Please start educating people your age about FMS/CFIDS/MPS etc. They will be the ones who discover the key to correcting these ailments. Many adults who have posted to FMS newsgroups are not half as adult as you seem to be. Keep up the marvelous work and best wishes. Jackson |

| Comments: Hi Rachel! I was releaved to find that someone my age has a web site regarding these illnesses, as I have been suffering from FMS for the past 2 years. I find my interests to be very similiar to yours--I love to write, music has played a great role in l fting my spirits, and medical research hs helped pull me through these illnesses. In fact, if it wasn't for the research, I probably would still not have a diagnosis! Thank you very much for your page! If you ever want to talk, feel free to e-mail me t the address listed above. Thanks! |
| Comments: What a wonderful job!! Keep up the good work!! Take good care of yourself.... Michelle |
| Comments: I applaud you young woman, I have been sick with this from my early teens myself only I didn't have the benefit of knowing it. My family discounted it as all in my head...God Bless You sweetie |
| Comments: Hi Rachel, I really enjoyed your page and copied some of it for my family to read. I have FMS and CFS and Myofacial Pain Syndrome and am still being tested. My doctors also suspects that I have rheumatoid arthritis, but the blood work is not consistant so we are still plugging away at a complete diagnosis. I've had FMS for a while 5-10 years, but have only be diagnosed for about 3. They say the condition is not progressive, but I've gotten a lot worse in the last year and just came off of a very seve e bout of depression (Which I have never experienced before). Thank God I have a very good medical team and they got me through and am feeling much better now. I really think awareness is the key to these conditions because people have no idea what we g through. I have a lot of support from my best friend as she has FMS, rheumatoid arthritis and sjograines (Sic) so we hold each other up emotionally. Thanks for the great homepage and take care. |
| Comments: Rachel, This site is fabulous. It makes me feel better just to look at the beauty of it. I too had FMS symptoms as a child, but was told "it was all in my head", as was almost everyone else. Maybe with your generation, and people like you, we will see change. You are our hope for the furure. The illness takes away all age barriers, doesn't it?, because I think of you as a sister, when you could be my granddaughter. This is sad for you in a way, because it thrusts you into the adult world much too soo . I remember adults telling my mother, "She's so mature for her age". I didn't know if that was good or bad, but I knew I was different. I think it is the pain that forces you to learn endurance much too early. I was an only child with a mostly unsuppor ive mother, so give your Mom a big hug for helping you. Two of my worst problems were headaches (told I was too young to have headaches, like headaches are a drivers license and you have to reach a certain age before you can have them, and menstrual cramp that were unbearable. Hope you don't have to suffer with that. I was never as sick as you were as a child, but knew I wasn't like other kids. Too much pain, too much fatigue. You are indeed an inspiration. If I could write a poem I'd write one to you. Sometimes I write "Fairy Tales" to my son who is 20 and away from home, so maybe I can do that. With love and much respect, kathy |
| Comments: I have FMS and possibly CFIDS. I have had it for 12 yrs, but was only diagnoised a year and a half ago. I have just found out that my 15 yr old daughter has FMS as well. | Comments: Your page is wonderful. Here I am at 50 and still trying to learn how to set up a page. Great things happen if we just keep learning new ways. I know you will have great things come your way. God bless. From the Fl panhandle. Gerri |

| Comments: Good work! I have cfs, fibromyalgia and bipolar disorder, but I do well as long as I always take my medicine and take care of myself. It is possible to live a good life with a chronic illness. You have to learn how to live within the limitations of the llness and go from there. |

You may be 14 yrs by the calendar but you are quite grown up in living w/reality and dealing w/limits by reaching ou to others. I am passing on your info to those whom I meet regarding their illnesses. If I may share w/you my proofing of your web page: excellent job, I would like to do same ~ Please accept the following as corrections to a job well done: In start of your web page (I [should also say am] from Missouri . . .) How I Cope second line: I use it[should have "to"] heal . . . You write: Try not to be scared [is it necessary to say this, please reconsider, do sound authoritative] You write: Now enough about me, [should read: let's] . . . You write list of illnesses: misspelling of [BiPolar] You write: Good Links space wonderful guy . . . site's [no comma]web page. . . | Comments: The girl that is making this page possible, Rachel Burns is the strongest, kindess, helpful, and conciderate person I have had the pleasure to meet. She can make you smile when you are down, and just brighten your day with her words of encourgaement. She s a really nice person, always there to help other and not worry about her own feelings. I may be a little prejudice but she is truly a one of a kind. |
| Comments: A lovely page is sprouting here in your new garden. Keep up the great work! One of my poems you might like is on line at http://www.geocities.com/~jagannatha/reaching.html (scroll down a bit) God bless, |
