Lauren's Story about� 'N SYNC at the volleypalooza Feb 1998 by Lauren
Hey! I just got back from the mini promotional� concert that N SYNC did today at South Beach Miami, and let me tell you, I am in heaven!!! We got there at about 10am, and sat on the bleachers to watch the volleyball match for the models.�� N SYNC wasn't going to be there until 12, but we wanted to get there early. At 1:00 I thought I saw Chris in the VIP tent, 'cause I saw the white dreads.�I wasn't sure, so my cousin and I moved up to the
fence that separated the bleachers here we were sitting and tent, and to my surprise it was Chris, and JC and Justin were standing right next to them. They were dancing/moving to the beat of Notorious BIG.� Then Joey and Lance popped up.� They were far in the back, so they didn't really see us...at least that's what I thought.� My cousin started pointing at them asking "Is that N SYNC?"�and I said yeah and pointed out each of the guys to her.� JC noticed us pointing at them, so he motioned to the other guys to look at us.� We smiled and they stuck their tongues out at us....It was so cute. They then had to go to the back of the stage and do a little interview.� We could see them through a small crack between the stage and the tent, so we watched them the whole time, and they smiled at us..awww.� We tried to go back there, but their bodyguard wouldn't let us.� After the interview was done, they let all the fans come to the back of the stage to meet the guys.� When we started walking back, JC noticed us and waved, but he couldn't talk 'cause he was in a conversation with another lady. We tried to talk to them, but they were too busy talking with ALL of Joey's relatives.� There were about 10-15 of Joey's cousins, aunts, and uncles there.� So we couldn't talk.� But JC noticed us again, and said "wassup?"� I said "not much, hey how ya doin?"� he said "Alright, where are you from?"� I said, "Ft. Lauderdale".� He said "cool". Then he turned to Justin and Joey and said "how come everyone (though there were only 10 real N SYNC fans there, and the rest were Joey's relatives) is from Ft. Lauderdale, none of them are from Miami."� Then he and the others laughed, and then he turned to us and said, "see ya later, we gotta go." So they left, and we went to the front of the stage and watched them perform. They only performed, Tearin' Up My Heart, For The Girl Who Has Everything, and I Want You Back. When they came on the stage, they had this really cool intro dance thing, I can't explain it, but it was cool.� After the intro (which had some really cool dance moves) they sang Tearin' Up My Heart (in which Justin did this cute bit of "Let Me Clear My throat" in the middle of the song). After that, Joey said that he was glad to be at Volleypalooza (the festival), and that it was their first true performance in the states.� After Joey, JC introduced the guys, and when he introduced Chris he said, "this is..." and Chris made a weird face, and JC goes, "anyways, let's go to the next person...kidding, this is Chris...he's the president for hair club for men". After that, they sang FTGWHE, and then I Want You Back. At the beginning of the song, Justin wanted everyone to clap.� He said, "I'm not going to sing until you start clapping (then everyone started clapping), hehe, I'm just playing".� And that was the last song they did.� It wasn't really a concert, it was a promotional thing that lasted about half an hour.� And let me tell you, they all looked good.� JC especially looked good, and so did Justin. Lance's hair was really bleached, and Joey looked like they way he
looked in his pics, and Chris looked cute with his dreads. After they left the stage, they hung out in the back with Joey's relatives, and Ariel (from No Mercy).� They were supposed to give out autographs, but they didn't have time.� We were only able to get Joey's autograph. They only hung around for about 10 minutes, and then their bodyguard rushed them out to the van, 'cause they had to catch their plane. I tried to talk with Justin's mom, 'cause she wasn't going to leave with them, but she was talking with Joey's mom and relatives. That was the best day of my life.� I will never forget this day.� I can't wait until they give another concert here, or anywhere near me.

when N SYNC got on they started off with Tearin' Up My Heart, then they introduced themselves and then Justin started a little human beat box thing with the guys doing the "when I say N, you say SYNC" chat.� After that they sang "Drive Myself Crazy".� Chris gets lead first, then Justin, and then JC. It's a beautiful song.� I love it!� Then after that they did "I Want You Back". After they finished Innosense came on. They did three songs, and I liked the last one they did. I think it's called "I'm Looking for A Good Man". Here are my thoughts on Innosense (keep in mind none of this is meant to be derogatory): Alright, Innosense is like a 5 person version of All Saints.� They definitely have potential.� They just need time to build up some strength.� They don't sound as tight as other groups are.� It's like you can tell that they're just starting out. Amanda and Nikki (who looks the same as she did on the MMC, just that her hair is permed/crimped) had the most leads.� Both had good voices, but Nikki's needs to mature more.� I'm sure it'll get better with time.� The person's voice who I like the best is Danae's.� They all can dance, that's for sure.� And Veronica (the youngest of the group) reminds me of Robyn with red hair.� She seems sweet.� Amanda looks like Lene from Aqua, too. While I was standing at the side of the gate next to the buses, Innosense was boarding the bus with Lynn.� I was waving at them and everything (I think I was the only one who noticed who they were).� Well, Danae and Amanda smiled and waved back at me.� And so did Veronica.� Those three seem like really nice people.� I screamed Nikki's name, but I'm not sure she heard me. After they went on, I went to eat lunch, 'cause I didn't feel like watching Vanilla Ice and 69 Boyz.� Well, as my mom and I were walking up towards the Hard Rock Cafe, a white van was pulling out that said Trans Continental Records. My mom goes to me "uh-oh, I think that was N SYNC".� I was like damn, I was hoping they'd stay to give autographs.� But then like 5 minutes later, a black mini van pulls out.� I notice that in the front were two huge body guards.� so I turn to my mom and say "looks like the body guards are going home too".� Well, as I was staring at the van drive by, I notice a face on the other side of the tinted window.�Who was it?� None other than JC!!!� I waved like a lunatic, and he waved back. He pushed out the window, and stuck his hand out the small crack on the bottom of the window to wave at me with his cute fingers.� I was so psyched.� My mom was like he's waving at you.� I thought no way, but there was no one else around me except for my mom and a couple cops. Pinky's story:�� I went with my friend Aline, her mom,
another friend Katie and my friend brook. First thing I saw were my brother's two friends
Justina and Jessica (who have also been� fans since 95 ) right smack in the front
waving. I went up there to talk to Jessica and Justina. We were like right in front of the
stage and there was barely anyone there yet so we got pretty good seats. I was right up
there! my friends were kinda behind me and I kept turning around to talk to them and this
girl that was next to these other two girls next to me asked me if I was Anbar! and it was
trace! (dreams8899) hee! that was really kewl! first came Joey (he looked good!!!) out he
came up and stopped in the middle (right in front of me) then turned around..then Chris
and lance (I forget who came in which order) and did the same. then Justin. then when JC
came out he was smiling so much cuz we were screaming so much! LOL! and he did this cute
walk and he did the same too, (they made a line almost like a pyramid) so they sang Tearin
up My heart, sailing, this acapella rap thing that Justin did, acapella joy....(I can't
remember the whole title) and of course I want u back. the best was u know in both
versions of IWYB video? where Justin is in the front and two are on each side and they do
that back flip thing? well they did that! that's my fave part! the rapping was so funny!
cuz at one part Justin was doing this thing with his mouth to make the rapping sound then
all of sudden he like added a laugh into it and the other guys were behind him laughing!
Chris smiled at us cuz we were singing all the songs, and� Justin came up during
Tearin up my heart and put the microphone to Justina to sing through it. we had our albums
out and they smiled when they saw it:oP now u have no idea how close I was. I was like
against the stage right smack in the front. it was unbelievable! it was so weird, cuz to
me it was so unreal, and it was like so not happening to me! it felt like I was seeing
pictures move! LOL! one part I will never forget! during I want u back, at this one part
Justin like scrunched down and his face was like right in front of mine! it was so funny!
I had the biggest smile on my face and I took a picture and Justin just was smiling back I
think he was almost laughing at me!! I got to touch JC's hand:oP� JC did a back flip
right in front of my face! Justin did this kick thing twice and it seemed like it was
gonna kick me! LOL! their voices are just as good as they are on the album. there was a
list of songs they were supposed to sing on this black speaker thing in front of us and
they forgot to sing "here we go!" :o( and they were suppose to stage and give
autographs but they didn't:o(� I swear, we were so lucky to get up there so close.
man it was unbelieve able! they were a lot of people in the front that knew them from MMC
and knew *N Sync since 95 cuz there were A LOT singing their songs besides us. my friends
absolutely fell in love with them after they saw them perform! u should have heard�my
friends mom. she's all like they were really really good. and on the way there I put my
beegee mix in and she loved it! she kept saying it over and over they were really good and
deserve to be number 1! :oP
Tracy's story:���� Hey, everybody!� Okay, now that you've heard Pinky's point of view, here's mine.� I got to the pier at about 11:30 in the morning. My friend and I were the first ones there so we walked around a bit then went over to the stage at 12.� We were in the very front row.� Around 1:00, Pinky came and I introduced myself to her. We were so excited!� Now all we needed was 'N SYNC. Finally, around 1:15, 'N Sync's van drove by and everyone started freaking out. We couldn't wait for them to get out onstage.�Finally, they announced 'N SYNC.� Everyone started going crazy!� I could see between the speakers that were onstage and I saw Chris still sitting in the van. Then Joey came walking out onto the stage, then Justin, Lance, Chris, and JC .� They did the coolest intro! It was the same one they did in New York.� After the intro the guys sang Tearin' Up My Heart, an old song by Stevie Wonder called Overjoyed, Sailing, and finally I Want You Back. Before they sang IWYB, Justin did the coolest little beat box thing for a few minutes.� It was awesome! After IWYB, the guys took a bow, ran off stage and were whisked into the van and took off. Even though the concert wasn't long, it was still awesome.� I can't wait to see the guys when they do the real U.S. tour.� If you haven't seen the guys perform yet, you must go!� I'll never forget it! �
� Review of the NY *N SYNC concert

�I went to the *N Sync concert at XS last Thursday night. I had
VIP Passes, but they weren't anything really special - it only allowed you to go and get
autographs from the band, and we didn't get to really meet them or anything. Anyhow, the
guys were all so sweet!
I brought my 5th and 6th season mini mags and when my cousins and I showed it to Justin and then JC, the other guys were kinda teasing them about it and Justin and JC were laughing. It was so cute!! I have a picture showing JC laughing, with his head on the table. =) After the autograph session, the concert started and it was SO AWESOME!!! They only sang like 5 songs though, between 8:30-9:30pm
It was really really good and there were so many people there. As they were going off the stage, my cousin was reaching out for them and JC grabbed her hand and was all, "Hey sweetheart" and she was all excited (I would be too!) During the concert, I was grinning ear to ear and JC saw me, winked and waved to me. All in all, it was such an awesome concert! =)
review of *N SYNC in Ontario 4/98 by Karen
My friend works at the Nac, and he is the reason that N Sync came here on the 16th to perform, and not only that but he got so much else. Girls had been lining up for hours to get in, we walked by them all and went right in.�� A few minutes later and the guys walked in to do a soundcheck.� My heart stopped when I saw JC!� They sang a few songs, then, I got to meet him.� He is so beautiful, even more so in person. They performed that night and the concert was so good, I can't believe how energized it was.� The Nac was rockin'! Afterwards, my friend Russ, who had been talking with their agent, got special permission for us to go back to the hotel that they were staying at (only for half an hour, because they were on their way to Toronto that night), and we got pictures with them!� We also talked a bit with Joey and Justin. This was definitely the best day of my life, and to top it off, they are really as sweet as we thought they were! Sorry this is the summarized version, but I am on my way to work! See ya! Spring Break Jam April 1998 by Stephanie
Hello everyone! Well this day was such an incredible one and definitely one that I will never ever forget!� I got to see *N Sync TWICE in one day! Ok, first my friend, Tina, and I went up to Great Lakes Mall to see them. They were performing a few songs and signing autogrpahs at Camelot Music Store. I didn't think there would be a lot of people there since they had just come out in the U.S. but the store was packed! They were like an hour late

but it was worth it. They sang a few songs. They sang "Tearin' Up My Heart" first. Then they did the little "mix" of popular tunes now. Let's see, "Getting Giggy With It" was in there and all these otehr songs. Everyone was hyped up and screaming and taking pics and dancing and singing. It was great! Then they sang "The Lion Sleeps Tonight". That was cool. After they were all done singing, everyone rushed over to get their autographs. I brought the N Sync CD and they signed the cover. Justin touched my hand!!!! *LOL* JC called Tina "sweetheart". She was bragging about that the rest of the night. (I was very jealous since he's my fave.) Then I won two more tickets to the concert that night. I didnt even need them though! Oh well. :)�
Ok, on to the concert. It was Spring Break Jam 98, put on by a Cleveland radio station, Jammin' 92.3. The performers were: LFO, *N Sync!!, Dru Hill, Jocelyn Enriquez, Jimmy Ray, React. It was great. Everyone was jumping and dancing and singing and taking pictures. It was so exciting! We couldn't wait to see N Sync. Well the time finally came for our boys to come on. Tina and I were like holding hands in excitement. We figured out that N Sync was next cause they put five microphones out! Duh. They came out and had on these PHAT vinyl black and white jackets and black pants. They later took the jackets off and had on matching tee shirts underneath. whoo hoo. They did a dance at the beginning that was so awesome. I loved it! Then they sang "Tearin' Up My Heart", "The Lion Sleeps Tonight", "I Drive Myself Crazy" and "I Want You Back." Justin said that "I Drive Myself Crazy" is like his favorite song on the album. Their performance was great. I sang and danced and screamed tons. Justin even looked up at us! It was so cool. We were the only people in our section that were like standing up and dancing. He came to our side of the stage and looked up. I raised my arms and screamed and he smiled his beautiful smile and waved. I am really serious that he was looking right at me and Tina!!! It was so awesome. Think he remembered us from Camelot? Who knows...
Let me tell you all. N Sync was a great performance. I wish I could have brought each and everyone of you all with me. I even had like six extra tickets! ha ha. But if you ever have the chance to see them, GO! They have so much energy onstage. It's great! I loved it.
Robin's Concert Review
May 9, 1998
On Saturday May 9th (Matt's birthday) I FINALLY got to see *N SYNC
live!! After along time, finally we were allowed to go in after a long wait outside in the
cold! It was really dark and noisy in there but we managed to get up front. There was a
big gap between the stage and the front railing but Katie, her friends and Jamie got to
squish up against the railing and Ann was behind them, and Stefanie and Patty were next to
Ann and i got smushed behind them. I'm really short (5'2") and it was kind of hard to
see. We had to wait for a hour and a half and then the DJs came on the stage and annoucned
the groups and one DJ was trying to tease us and said *N SYNC cancelled. That was SO not
funny! They also said *N SYNC arrived wearing nothing but speedos....that woke us
up!�
The first act was two girls called "Soap" They were Ok not too bad. The next
group was Los Umbrellos and they were (in my opinion) really BAD. They kept having
problems with their tape and had to improvise.� THEN.... after what seemed like
FOREVER *N SYNC came on!! JC, Joey and Justin wore red and gray track suits and Chris and
Lance's were black and gray. They opened with a dance number to music I didn't recognize
and it was hard to hear at first cos everybody was screaming. Then they sang Tearin' Up My
Heart and the audience sang along. JC looked amazing as usual! Chris's hair was pulled
back like on MTV Live and it was OK. Joey had on a black Superman hat with a small
Superman symbol on the side. Lance and Justin looked good too. I forget the order of the
rest of the songs , but here's what they did: The Lion Sleeps
Tonight (Chris had the audience sing along a bit with the chorus part), The BeeGees Medley, a little different from the one at the Bambi Awards, Their intros and Justin's little beat box thing, Gettin' Jiggy Wit' It , Drive Myself Crazy You Got It and finally "I Want You Back". JC did the intro to IWYB and said hi to his brother and his friends who were in the audience. Then they had everyone sing along with them and it was over. Justin and Chris were over in the corner of the stage closest to me and Joey came
over a lot too during "You Got it". It was hard to see anyone else. The concert was way cool and *N SYNC put on a great show!! If you get the chance-RUN don't walk to see them!!!
