Robin's Concert Review
PRO FM Birthday Bash May 29, 1998 by Robin
Back in May My local radio station (92 pro Fm, providence, RI) was having a birthday bash
with Meredith brooks, Jimmy Ray, Lisa Loeb, a bunch of other people, *N SYNC and speical
guest hosts the Backstreet Boys. (three of them showed up for 5 minutes to present a prize
to a winner of a trip to Disney World). The only way in was to win and you had to be a
certain number caller to win. I tried for a while and my best friend tried. She was
willing to do ANYTHING for the tickets so the day of the show (Friday the 29th of May) she
woke up at 5:30!!!!!! She wnated to try for the first pair of tix to be given away. They
said the first 7 people who brought flowers to the station would get tix. She was the
third perosn in line and she was the ONLY perosn who said she was looking forward to
seeing * we didn't get downtown until 5:30. we walked to the performing arts center and
waited with the screaming teenyboppers. Sadly, we realized we were the oldest ones there
besides the parents! We got in and found our seats in the third balcony first row. they
were ok and it's a good thing Amber brought her little brother's toy binoculars!!!
Meredith Brooks performed first. Jimmy Ray was next and he sang three songs and then the
BSB and the DJs announced the winner of the trip to Disney and the BSB announced *N SYNC
and we cheered. The guys came on Lookin' MIGHTY FINE!! Joey wore a shiny purple shirt and
black pants, Justin had his North Carolina blue pants and a white shirt, Lance wore dark
blue jeans and a black t-shirt with a white button down shirt (open) over it. Chris had on
army overlals and an orange shirt. his hair was pulled back into a pnoytail thing and it
looked bad. JC looked GORGEOUS in an outfit that looked like he wore on the MMC tour:
baggy olive green pants, a plaid shirt, black vest and hat.
They opened with their cool dance intro and JC did a flip!! Joey was moving around a lot too. MAN can he dance!! First they sang TUMH and the audience sang along a little bit. Then Joey did the intros and he introduced Chris as the second tenor and alto (Chris made a face. I don't think he likes his voice. but I DO!!!), Then for Lance he said "his name is spelled like his voice but it's pronounced different." Then he introduced Justin and JC and he kept messing with JC's hat!! he rubbed JC's head (hee!) and Justin introduced Joey and then Drive Myself Crazy. He said it's one of his faves on the album. They sang that and had the audience wave their hands back and forth. Next Chris sang The Lion Sleeps Tonight and asked the audeince to sing along. most people knew the words from The Lion king and a few knew the last two verses. Chris's mic kept screeching at the high parts though. That led right into Justin's little beat box thing where they sang Gettin' Jiggy Wit' It and did their little "say uh uh nah nah nah" Then Chris said "This next song we're gonna do for you is one you should ALL know!" So they sang "I Want You Back" and Justin let the audience so "You're the one I Want,. You're the One I need'" . As the msuic was ending after the show Joey hopped down on one of the platforms and waved to everyone in the front row. And then they said goodnight after that!! =-(
Lauren's *N Sync Concert Review
HOUSE OF BLUES,�� JUNE 12th In Orlando by ~Lauren~
�Hey! Oh my gosh, *N SYNC gives an amazing concert.�I was sitting there with my mouth hanging open 'cause they were so GOOD!!! It was a really pumped up concert.�Innosense opened up at about 8:30-8:45ish.� They first did a dance intro, and then they sang: I Wanna Get To Know You, Wishing on Every Star, then they introduced themselves (they forgot Nikki, but then Danay remembered, it was pretty funny, 'cause everyone was like "What about Nikki?"), then they said they were going to be releasing their song over seas in August, then they sang the song, which was called Right Here Waiting (I think that's the title. Then they talked to the audience about looking for a real good man, and told the audience to scream it so N SYNC could hear.� After that they sang the song Looking for a Real Good Man, and then they finished with the Top 40 pop/dance hit Get Into the Groove.� After they finished Average Joe came on and sang 3 songs.�Then at about 10:15-10:30-ish N SYNC came on.� they started off with their Star Wars/Janet Jackson intro (the one they used for their European tours). After that they sang Crazy for You.� They did an intro (each guy came out and said a few words) then they sang Stevie Wonder's Overjoyed.� After that they sang Lance's favorite song God Must Have Spent......Then they sang (I think it was what came next) Lion Sleeps Tonight.� Then Giddy Up (which was da bomb), I Drive Myself�Crazy.� And then they did this really cool Dance interlude where Lance pushes JC against the speakers, then they pretend to shoot Chris, and they all get into a dance fight and kill each other. Then they do another really cute dance.� It was an amazing dance routine.�it's hard to describe. After that they sang You Got It, followed by the Gettin Jiggy with It/beatbox thing.� Then they sang Sailing and Here we Go. In the middle of here We Go they introduced the band, and for those who know about Dax, he was amazing and he seemed like he hadn't gone through surgery.� They also did a little audience contest where the guys split the audience in two between JC and Lance (I was on their side) and Joey and Justin.� Joey's side had to sing "yes yes yes here we go" and JC's side had to sing "nsync has got the flow".� It was a contest to see who could sing the loudest.� JC's side won first but then Chris put the people on the balcony on Joey's side and they sang louder. Justin told JC in a really funny voice "You are THA LOOOSER!" it was really funny.� but then JC and Lance were totally convinced our side won (and we did.....hee).� Then they finished up the song, and went on to sing For The Girl..... and then I Want You Back.� They said good bye after IWYB, but then they came on to do a REAL good bye to their families, TransCon, Lou Pearlman, Innosense Average Joe, and the audience.� after that goodbye they sang Tearin' Up My Heart and they left.� It was a really hyped up concert.�There was so much energy.� JC was losing he voice in some of his songs so Chris and Joey took some of his high parts. The guys were having a blast on the stage. they were being so silly (esp JC, Joey, and chris). JC, Joey, and Justin were doing a lot of silly butt-bumping.� It was hilarious.� Well that was the concert. It was so amazing.� It had to be one of the best concerts I've ever been too. They're concert really showed that they REALLY DO KNOW how to sing, harmonize, and dance.� Anyone who goes to an N SYNC main act concert will know that they're legit and that no one else compares to them.� They were just amazing, and y'all should go no matter what to see them flaunt their stuff.� You won't regret it when you do.�I was so amazed when I was watching them.� Oh and a funny thing happened the next day.� My brother, mom, and I went to MGM Studios the next day and when we were eating, the guy at the cash register looked EXACTLY like Lance.� I swear I thought it was him, but I remembered that they were on a plane to Cali.� But this guy (his name was Mel and he was from Pennsylvania and his voice wasn't low like Lance's) looked SO MUCH like Lance.� I couldn't believe the resemblence.� My mom even thought it was him. It was just one of those silly pointless things I had to share :o) �hope you liked the story!�
Aud's *N Sync Concert Review
Review of *N SYNC in Grand Rapids, Michigan by Aud �
Well, I didn't get to meet them =(� But, I was right up front and this is what
happened.� First they didn't come on until past midnight.� When they first came
on, I yelled Joey's name and he smiled and winked at me.� Then a few minutes later I
yelled Chris's name and he did the same thing.� Then I waved to Lance and he waved
back and smiled at me (that happened a few times).� They first did Tearin' Up My
Heart, then the Stevie Wonder song, then Sailing. JC smiled at me =)� Right before
Sailing when they were getting the stools out I yelled to JC, "JC, You're doing a
great joB!" and he smiled and said, "Thanks!".� Then they did The Lion
Sleeps Tonight and were making us sing along.� Well JC was standing right in front of
me and pointed the mike at me and was mouthing "sing along"....so I reached up
and touched his wrist.� Then I freaked out =).� After that they did the boom box
thing (justin was totally teasing the audience).� Just after that, I was yelling to
Chris and he crouched down to hear me and I asked him to play Together Again....he
couldn't hear me so I had to repeat myself a few times, but then he was like, 'How about I
Want You Back?" and I said, "Noooo...Together Again!"� But then I
smiled and he smiled.� Then they did I Want You Back, and then left
=(��They had a great time, I could tell, and I got all of their attention
(except for Justin).� And both Chris and JC talked to me!!!� And I got to touch
JC!!!� I cried on the way home b/c I wanted to actually meet them soooo bad! But they
took off for Cleveland.� Before they came on, the DJ asked if we'd caught them on the
Rosie O'Donnell Show and I yelled "RICKI LAKE NOT ROSIE!" really loud and he
just gave me a funny look.� The girls around me laughed (I think I was the only
longtime fan there).� My mom (she was there) said that they did a great job, and they
did!� I know that they walked out of there last night with a lot more new fans.�
And I just became even more of a fan.� And I touched JC!!� I swear I'll meet
them someday....after tonight, I'm just even more determined.� I just want to thank
Robin and all the fellow MMC/'N Sync/Tony/etc.� fans out there.� Thanks to you
guys, I know what's going on and am never behind on the news.� I just hope you all
have experiences like mine (and I'm jealous of anyone who actually gets to meet them!)
