Biography
Natalie Portman was born in
Jerusalem, Israel on the 9th of June,1981. At the age of three Natalie
moved to Washington D.C., at the age of seven moved to Connecticut, and
at the age of nine moved to Long Island, New York where she presently resides.
At the age of eleven Natalie was discovered by a modeleling agent at a
pizza parlour. She was asked to model but she preferred acting instead,
so the modeling agent organised some auditions for Natalie from some acting
agents.
Natalie's first major film
was "The Professional" where she starred alongside Jean Reno. This film
displayed the tremendous acting ablility of this young actress which won
her the role of Marty in the film "Beautiful Girls". Although she was not
a headline actress in this film she stole the show from the bigger names
at the time.
The film she played,
"Mars Attacks" wasn't a huge hit but she did play alongside many stars.
Her next film, a musical, was "Everyone says I love you" directed by Woody
Allen. She starred alongside Drew Barrymore, Julia Roberts and Alan Alda.
"Everyone says I love you" received good press from the critics.
"The Diary of Anne Frank"
was a Broadway play in which Natalie played the role of Anne. During the
same time frame of "The Diary of Anne Frank" Natalie was cast in "Stars
Wars: Episode One, The Phantom Menace". George Lucas wanted Natalie so
much he rescheduled his shooting schedule to fit in with Natalie's so she
could play her role. Her role as Queen Amidala/Padme in "Star Wars: Epidode
One, The Phantom Menace" has made Natalie unbelievably popular and she
now is one of the most sought after actresses.
Natalie has finished school
recently in which she was a straight A student. Along with her drop dead
looks, her tremendous acting skills and heavenly personality, she is also
very intelligent. All of these traits together are very hard to find in
one person. Natalie is also a vegetarian. She bacame a vegetarian after
she watched her father perform laser surgery on a chicken! Her father is
an infertility specialist and her mother is an artist. Natalie is an only
child. Natalie has a dog which is named Noodles. It is half poodle, half
schnauzer. Her best friends name is Rachael. In her spare time Natalie
enjoys dancing (jazz, ballet and tap), reading, writing, ice-skating, acting!!!,
and hanging out with her friends. Natalie's favorite music includes Bjork,
Alanis Morissette and the Jackson 5.
