Religion: The history
of God's people and the early Christians; reading comprehension; listening
skills; memorization skills.
Math: Skip count by
1's, 2's, 5's and 10's; compare and order numbers; identify ordinal position
to tenth; identify a sorting rule; identify and extend patterns; solve
routine and non-routine problems; master all basic addition facts and most
subtraction facts; add two-didgit numbers with out regrouping; picture
and name fractions; measure using inches, feet; compare volume, mass and
area; tell time to the half hour; count pennies, nickels, dimes and quarters.
Phonics: Auditory discrimination;
letter identification; consonant letter-sound associations; short vowel-sound
associations; long vowel-sound associations; consonant-sound associations;
consonant, vowel-consonant blending;consonant blends;Y as a vowel; diagraphs;contractions;
inflectional endings; Review.
Spelling: Spelling
words in context in a variety of expository selections and variety, including
poetry, riddles, and stories. Utilizing a test-study-test method. Starting
with alphabet review;beginning and endings sounds; long and short vowel;
blends; y as a vowel;th,wh,sh,ch, words; adding ed and ing to endings.
Review.
Reading: In conjunction
with the phonics and spelling program; Reading will begin with simple single
syllable words. Initial, medial and final consonants and clusters; short
vowels; long vowels; sight vocabulary; word structure and meaning. Listening;
speaking; writing; and reading comprehension.
Handwriting: Review
of manuscript letters, introduction to small sentences.
Social Studies: (history/geography)
Themes of patriotism and God's guidance in our country's beginnings and
what our basic freedoms are; Studying several famous American Patriots;Map
reading; Good Citizenship and reading skills will be developed; Patriotic
songs; Introduction to major cities and U. S. Territories.
Science: Studying science
to see the plan of God as it is revealed in His orderly creation. Plants,
animals, insects, energy, health, the seasons, and the five senses with
emphasis on building interest and augmenting reading skills and comprehension.
Art: Developing fine
motor, and listening skills; drawing techniques and following directions
in an enjoyable manner.
Music: Songs to develop
speech, memorization, rhyming, & styles of music. Action songs for
gross motor development.
Speech Therapy: To
be provided by the School District 3 (1 hr. each) times a week.
Adaptive Physical Education:To
be provided by the School District 1(1 1/2 hrs. each) time a week.
Occupational therapy:
To be provided by the School district 1 (1 hr.) time each week.
